I will be photographing live music gigs and events (often without flash) so need good low light - high ISO performance (and good resolution at 100 ISO too).

I had a fair amount of experience many years ago with a Canon T70 and T90 so I'm not a complete novice.

I tend to favour wideangle zoom lenses and don't have any particular allegiance to Canon, Nikon or any other brand. I don't own any lenses at the moment.

I originally thought about a 5D mkIII with 24-105L but I'm not sure I could justify the cost so I was thinking the Nikon D5200 with a good zoom of around 24-70 (35mm equivalent) ?? unless there are other recommendations ??

One where they are staffed by photography hobbyists and they actually know what they're talking about ??

There are things about it that don't add up - and the big media corporations are ignoring that.

Was this some kind of 'false flag' operation to create the demand for increase gun control ??

I had this terrible nightmare. There was this grayish-black thing and it said it had come from Hawaii but really it was from Africa and it said something about relax, government knows best for you, we will protect you from the mist....and soldiers wearing gas masks took my gun and put me into a gas proof van and took me away to this big concentration camp where people were strapped to wheeled gurneys and played Jonas Brothers 24 hours a day until they confessed to the location of their guns......my God....the horror.

Then this withered old skeletal hag held out a claw and pressed it against my face and I screamed "what do you want from me old hag?" and she said "I am H i l a r y" and then I woke up shaking in a cold sweat.

I've been playing for a few weeks now but the strings hurt my finger tips quite bad. Most I can take is about an hour.

The strings are steel.

Could the bridge be too high and need sanding? Near the sound hole I would say the strings are about 5mm above the fret board. At the other end about 1-1.5mm

Or do I just have to wait till the skin thickens ??

For me the most annoying thing is that whenever I swipe my finger inwards from the right edge of the touch pad on my laptop, Windows 8 assumes brings up the 'charms' menu on the right edge of the screen ! .....and my finger doesn't even need to be AT the edge, just NEAR it.

New legislation currently proposed by the Obama administration will concentrate trailer parks. The new trailer trash 'city' will be both sides of a major road and a vehicle carrying a 20-30 megaton nuclear device will drive through and 'accidentally' detonate.

That's the impression I get from the reviews.

Is that a fair assessment ?

I saw a camera review that showed the images at different ISO settings for the two cameras (with similar lenses of the same focal length) and the D7000 appeared to be better. Mind you, the 5D mk2 was using basic sharpening and the D7000 stronger sharpening. At high ISO's the D7000 produced less noise.

Has anyone had any experience with these two cameras ?

I prefer the look of the 5D mk2, but in terms of performance (esp in low light) the D7000 seems better ? and probably cheaper ?

Any thoughts ???
