  • Is it illegal for my employer to inflate numbers to get additional funds?

My employer (I'll refrain from putting there name here) is currently artificially bloating numbers in order to get additional funds from Hewlett Packard. I would like to know if this is illegal, and if so who do I contact to report it.

  • If I win prize money, is it legal for my employer to take the tax on it out of my pay!?

I recently won over $1k in prize money at work, and was told that rather than actually take tax out of the winnings (which I don't like but I understand it has to be done) my employer turned around and told me "Sorry, we are going to take the tax on the prize money out of your check and you can have the full prize instead". This seems really illegal to me. First it doesn't show that I paid any tax on my winnings, and second they are withholding money that I earned rather than taking the tax out of the actual winnings which is what you are supposed to do.

I am in New York State. I would love to know what my recourse on this is. It seems extremely illegal that my employer is attempting to withhold money I earned (not paying the worker) and also not taking tax out of the prize money (which again, illegal on their part it seems like).

  • Can you use a regular cable modem for Internet when you have HD cable?

I have HD cable through Time Warner Cable and when I got the service they took my Motorola Surfboard modem and replaced it with this new singular piece that handles the phone, TV and internet and it is setup to work with a wireless router in the home. If I have a desktop that I want to connect to the net with a regular surfboard modem instead of running 100 feet of cable to the router is it possible to get another modem and use it with the service? or am I stuck with running the massive amount of cable / using a wireless card to pick up the wifi in my home?

  • Can men with a Bilateral Orchiectomy have a normal sex life? Is there pain after the procedure?

I was wondering can men who have had both testicles removed have a normal sex life? I have read that with Testosterone Replacement Therapy they can and go on to live completely normal happy lives but I wanted to possibly hear from someone who has actually undergone this procedure.

I also wanted to ask (since I currently may wind up losing the boys due to an infection) men who undergo this procedure for whatever reason who had testicular pain issues beforehand, can they expect that any testicular pain issues they had to be gone after this procedure due to the fact that the testicles & epididymitis are gone from the body?

  • Is it harmful to ejaculate while you have epididymitis?

I have been battling a case of prostatitis & epididymitis for going on two months now. So far I have been on Levaquin, Septra, and Cirpo none of which really relieved any of my symptoms. About 4 days ago I was in to see my urologist again because at this point I am really questioning what the hell is causing this (like is it a fungal infection or virus) and he finally took some strait prostate fluids and confirmed it IS a bacterial infection its just a matter of finding the correct antibiotic to fix it. This time I have been given doxycyline and so far after 4 days things SEEM like they are actually going in the right direction (as in I notice some actual relief from the symptoms and pains). One things that I have forced myself to restrain from is any sexual activity or ejaculation though since starting this new medication. I haven't gotten a solid answer from any doctors on this but this past week my urologist said that ejaculation can cause severe aggravation of symptoms during epididymitis due to the fact that the tissue is essentially squeezing sperm out of itself. So keeping in mind this is a bacterial infection:

    1. Can ejaculation hinder the healing process during epididymitis? More so can it cause the healing to go much longer than it needs to because it causes the tissue to have to work thru any inflammation that occured due to ejaculation?

    2. What about epididymitis and prostatitis makes it so hard to treat? Like I said I'm on my 4ht course of antibiotic and still not completely sure this one will do the trick although so far it seems promising.

    3. What is the normal time it should take for symptoms to start going away and seeing some relief? In 4 days of an antibiotic for this is it normal to only see SOME relief or should I be expecting to see total disappearance of symptoms in this short a time.

  • Can too much Cipro make you feel worse?

I'm currently being treated for Prostatitis and have been having testicular pain as a side symptom of the condition. After a few different medications my urologist finally put me on Cipro. I had also seen a infectious disease specialist that felt Cipro is the right way to go as well the only difference is my urologist wanted me taking it once a day, the infectious disease specialist said take it twice a day (a 500mg Cipro pill). So the first week I felt like crap as I have been, the second week I seemed to feel a tiny bit better each day (during week 2 I did not have any major pain flare ups in the testicular area). Anyways, yesterday I spoke to my urologist because I still am getting a moderate amount of discomfort on either side of the testicles randomly which I understand is due to the prostate infection which is going to take some significant time to heal. My urologist asked how many times I am taking Cipro per day and I told him twice and he told me to cut back to once a day because the Cipro could be aggravating the tissue more than helping it with 2 doses a day, which could be leading to the discomfort.

Anyways, has anyone heard of this before with Cipro that too much of it can actually hinder the healing process? I would think more is better, during the past week I have felt like I'm going in the right direction overall although I still get some uneasy discomfort after things such as ejaculating.

  • How long does prostatitis take to clear up?

Typically how long does prostatitis take to clear up? A couple of weeks ago I went to my urologist for what I had been told was an ongoing issue with epidytimitis (I was told by my primary care and a different urologist) and after an exam he said everything with the epidytimal tissue felt normal and wanted to give me a prostate exam since he felt thats where the pain might be originating. Sure enough he found that I had an incredibly inflamed prostate, in his words the infection had to have been building for months to get to this point and it spread itself down the spermatic cords into the epidytimal tissue behind each testicle, thus why I have been getting varying degrees of pain behind either testicle randomly. He gave me a perscription for sulfamethoxazole for 30 days, and a refill for if the symptoms are still an issue after 30 days. I'm on day 13 of the antibiotic right now and am finding some days I feel great, some like ****, and some are a mix and the my new urologist told me thats normal during the healing process for this, the infection had been building for so long its going to take some time to get it out of there.

My question is has anyone here had prostatitis before and how long did it take to clear up? I have also read that in some cases this can be caused by a fungal infection which requires a totally different medicine, are there signs to look for in that case to indicate either bacteria or a fungus causing the issue? I trust my urologist he has been excellent, I just am going nuts that after 2 weeks I still am having discomfort in the testicle region. It SEEMS like a step in the right direction, but its sooooooooo slow going :(

  • What are the signs of a testicular torsion?

I was wondering what are the signs and symptoms of a testicular torsion. Is it something that you could have and not realize it? Is it very painful and noticeable? I ask because I currently am being treated for prostasisand a side effect of it has been the testicles have been experiencing a moderate amount of random pain that switched back and forth between sides. Occasionally if I feel any sharp pains I start to worry maybe its a torsion but my doctor told me that provided everything is anatomically correct (which is is he said) then you have virtually no chance of getting a torsion. So I wanted to ask for my own info what are the signs of it, is it noticeable, is it common in adults (I'm in my late 20s, never had one before)?

  • What are the signs of testicular torsion?

I've been having an ongoing issue with epidytimitis (not sure if I spelled that right) that this round has lasted a good week so far and in the process of wondering if anything else might be wrong thought about testicular torsion. What are the signs of having this? The pain I've been having has been relatively mild its more of a sickening discomfort at its worst, I haven't had nausea or been throwing up, and touching the testicles themselves doesn't cause pain. I suppose its probably one of those "you'll know if you have it" things but I wanted to ask if anyone knows what some of the signs of this are especially since you can lose a testicle over it. I noticed the one testicle seems to be a bit more elevated than it was before at some points but that may be totally unrelated. I was to the urologist last week and they gave me an exam and a scrotal ultrasound and said everything came back within the normal parameters and nothing was accute so it doesn't appear to be anything too major. I'm just wondering if possibly I'm experiencing more unpleasant side effects or these are signs of having torsion.

  • Is it possible for your testicles to get what side they are on switched?

I wanted to know is it possible for the left and right testicle to switch sides at all for whatever reason (obviously accidentally). I know that testicular torsion is when one of them twists around but thats not what I'm talking about I mean outright the right one pushes over / in front of / behind the left one and winds up on the wrong side or vice-versa. I'm aware its normal for one to hang a little lower than the other and in the process of thinking about this it suddenly got me worried is that a possibility what I'm wondering about.

  • Is lag shifting from reverse to drive normal with an automatic transmission?

I own a 99 VW Jetta and noticed as its been getting colder out that when I shift from reverse to drive (trying to straiten my car out in a park spot for example) it takes a couple of seconds for it to engage drive. If I go from being in park to revere or drive the shift just about instant but going from reverse to drive or drive to revers seems to carry a 1 to 2 second delay with it. Is that normal? I've had no issues otherwise, no grinding sounds when shifting as described, no problems accelerating or strange sounds when accelerating which usually indicates a transmission issue. Some other forums I've read people have mentioned that they also have had issues with this on their cars but it appears thats how the car is designed. Just wondering if anyone else out there has experienced this and can say for sure this is normal or not. Got me a little concerned wondering if this is normal or not.

  • What would cause a tick sound when putting down my power window?

I have a 99 Volkwagen Jetta and just recently noticed that my driver's front power window when about halfway down makes an obnoxious tick sound for half a second, and then makes the same sound when I put the window back up in the same spot. I just had the car in last week for a power window switch replacement so I would imagine if there was an issue with the cabling or anything else they would have told me (especially since I mentioned this to them). While they were doing the repairs they said they didn't hear anything out of the ordinary and when I picked it up it sounded just fine but over the weekend after the car had been out in the cold I heard the sound again and its been there ever since. The window itself goes down just fine, comes back up just fine there is no slow down or stuttering when its functioning. The tick sound seems to be coming from where the window goes down into the door where the weather stripping is, I'm not hearing any tick sound or weird sounds from down in the door itself anywhere. I also noticed that where the window is when the sound occurs there is a scratch in the window on the inside. Could that scratch in the glass be causing this annoying sound? And why would the sound be intermittent, it seems like its more noticeable when its cold out.

  • What would cause a popping sound when putting a car into reverse?

I'll start by stating I have a 99 VW Jetta. I noticed recently that occasionally when I put my car in reverse as I let up on the breaks I hear normal break sqeak and on occasions I hear a dull pop sound from somewhere in the front of the car. It isn't happening all the time, and the car itself has been driving fine. I've had no issues with the car performance wise its not behaving as if the transmission is slipping, doesn't shake when idling and no shaking when driving / breaking, and there have been no other strange sounds that might indicate an issue (like grinding or rattling sounds). Its just recently I've noticed it randomly making a dull popping sound when I put the car in reverse and its only for a second as I let up on the breaks to start going in reverse, the car is very responsive when I take it out of park and put it into reverse, same with drive to reverse. This car has an automatic transmission by the way.

After some research signs are pointing to it being the break pads sticking for whatever reason up front, but I wanted to know if anyone had any further insight on something like this and what might be causing it. The car itself has been running and performing fine this is just more of an annoyance.

  • What would cause a clunk sound in the read of my car when I hit bumps?

I noticed somewhat recently (within the past 8 months or so) that when I hit bumps in the road sometimes I will hear a clunking sound come from the rear on my car. It doesn't happen all the time and seems to be more noticeable when its cold out. I also have noticed that on occasion when I am stopped and then accelerate again it sounds almost like a dragging rattling sound as I get going, but again the issue is not always there. I took the car into my mechanic last week and they checked over everything ranging from shocks to struts, made sure everything is bolted in place tight in the back and nothing is coming loose and said beyond that the only thing that may be causing the noise could be if something inside of a shock or strut itself was rattling but that would not effect the performance or saftey of the car. Anyone have any ideas what might be causing this issue or could it be just like they said something within one of the pieces? The car is going on 11 years old and is kept for very well but it IS getting old and I know sometimes cars make noises as they get older.
