I've got a fairly new MacBook Pro (8 months old). Over the last 2-4 weeks, the internet connection drops out at exactly 2.30 AM (Central European time). When it happens at night, the internet connection also drops for my iPhone. Since I live in a shared flat where the router is fairly far away from my room, I use the Ethernet connection with a cable. When the internet connection drops, my mac is still indicating that the "Ethernet" connection is functioning, but when I turn on WiFi to see if the connection is really dropped, it says "no IP address" and later goes on to self-assign an IP address. I study American politics (currently living in Europe) and want to watch the live coverage of the American election. My flatmate (the internet registered on him) has called our operator, and they told him there was no problem. I've tried dozens of "tricks" to make it work again. Restarting the router, renewing the DHCP lease, deleting the "AirPort" and two other files etc., but it still happens. Is this definitely a problem from the internet operator's side, or could it be my macbook? This has happened during day-time as well, and then only on my mac and not my iPhone.

All help is greatly appreciated. I live in Germany, but my German is pretty bad, so I'm hoping to not have to call the internet operator..
