  • How would you pronounce this girl's name?

    Keileigh

To me, it's one of those names where the spelling has been pimped to be "the same but different."

Unfortunately, the parents chose combinations that have the potential for multiple pronunciations.

Leigh used to be pronounced "lay" as in the masculine name Leighton.

Somewhere in the past few decades, leigh was hijacked as a supposedly feminine version of lee/lie.

So, while I think it's tacky and trashy, I concede that the last part of this girl's name is pronounced "lee".

That creates a problem in consistency.

Using that guideline, this name is pronounced as KEE-lee.

However, many names starting with "kei" use the pronunciation of "kay" which would make this name KAY-lee.

One friend is sure it's pronounced KYE-lee although I think that's a stretch.

So, wdyt is the proper pronunciation?

    KEE-lee

    KAY-lee

    KYE-lee

  • What happens if you don't have a cell phone to open a Yahoo! account?

Absolutely NO response at Yahoo!Products so I thought I'd try a more popular site.

I opened my Yahoo! account before cell phones were required.

If I want to open a new account for any reason will I be able to since I don't have a cell phone?

  • WDYT about the parenting styles of the Cyrus parents?

I really don't care about Miley's actions or your opinions of her performance; I'm asking you what you think of the difference of parenting styles.

Billy Ray: "Of course I'll always be here for Miley. Can't wait [to] see her when she gets home, She's still my little girl and I'm still her dad regardless how this circus we call show business plays out. I love her unconditionally and that will never change."

In a GQ interview in 2011, he said, "She's got a lot of people around her that's putting her in a great deal of danger. I know she's 18, but I still feel like as her daddy I'd like to try to help, at least get her out of danger. I want to get her sheltered from the storm. Stop the insanity just for a minute."

    >>Billy Ray expresses concern about her life...is he too controlling OR properly concerned?<<

Tish Cyrus, who was seen on camera giving her daughter a standing ovation while standing in the audience with Mike Will Made It, who produced the singer's hit "We Can't Stop" and features her on his new rap single "23."

She also re-tweeted a post from Derek Blasberg, Harper's Bazaar magazine's Editor-in-Large, who said: "Obsessed with @MileyCyrus's performance at the VMA's. It was like a karaoke party at the Playboy mansion. In the 90's. In platform sneakers."

    >>Tish applauded the performance...is she a good mom in letting her daughter make her own mistakes OR a reason for the behavior?<<

  • Survey: WDYT is the scam involved with these e-mails?

My spam filter takes out dozens of "free offers" for answering questionnaires about Kohls, Applebees, etc.

I never open them but I am curious: exactly what scam is involved with these?

Is this the same scam concerning offers of free samples for Tide, etc?

Please give me your opinions about what is going on.

    Thx

  • SURVEY: Is this a lack of common sense, ignorance, or hopeless stupidity?

Lorenzo Riggins ordered seven McDoubles and one McChicken and one fry. When he got to his truck, he checked his order and found he had six McDoubles.

He went back into the McDonald’s to let them know about their mistake and how dissatisfied he was with his "McExperience." He felt that the counter-person was "trying to get an attitude" and he decided to call the police.

    Yes...he called 9-1-1 over a botched Micky D's order!

When the police arrived, they arrested the man for misuse of the 911 emergency service.

Mr Riggins response: "I called the police and thought everything was cool. I didn't know I was misusing 911."

Is this a general lack of common sense or are people like this just hopelessly ignorant or stupid?

(Remember: ignorance is curable but stupidity is forever.)

  • Where can I buy certain Jeep windshield decals?

I'm not interested in "JEEP" or "RUBICON".

I'm looking for the funny windshield decals.

My husband has one that needs to be replaced: "It's a Jeep thing, you wouldn't understand"

He also likes the upside-down one: "If you can read this, turn me over"

We've searched high and low and haven't found them.

    Are they still available?

    If so, where?

  • How often should oil be changed on a low-mileage vehicle?

My aunt puts about 5000 miles a year on her 2007 Hyundai Sonata.

Obviously, under the 3000 mile change guideline, she should change the oil every 6 months.

Today, most owners' manuals, say it's acceptable to go somewhere between 5,000 and 7,500 miles between oil changes under normal conditions...this advice only applies to cars that are 2002 or newer.

That guideline would mean one oil change per year yet guidelines also call to change once every 3 months.

My aunt treats her car well - no jackrabbit starts, etc.

About twice a year, she puts 300-500 miles of highway miles on the vehicle.

So, what's the best oil change schedule for her?

  • Redux: Can I trust Yahoo! Mail changes?

My mail account has a notation at the bottom to "try" a side-view pane instead of the one at the bottom of the page.

So far, every change that has been offerred to me has resulted in a permanent change with no ability to return to the original format.

This change looks as tho it might be good but what if it's not?

Will I be able to get my current setting back?

Has anyone tried the sidebar view and returned to the bottom pane?

  • SURVEY: Which one is the most effective auto insurance spokesperson?

I asked this question yesterday and only got 3 answers.

The BA was deleted before I could choose it.

So, I'm going to try again.

The purpose of advertising is to make the consumer want to purchase the product

    (!duh!).

When it comes to auto insurance, which person/character is the most effective, the one who makes you genuinely interested in purchasing a policy?

I'm not asking which commercials are the best/most intriguing/enjoyable.

That prize goes to the Allstate "Mayhem" commercials with Dean Winter playing the character.

No, I'm asking which of the following commercials actually make you think of purchasing a policy with the represented company.

You can just give the one that is most effective or you can rate them 1-4 (one=best, 4=worst).

Editorial comments (especially funny ones) are quite welcome!

    ALLSTATE

...Dennis Haysburt ("The Unit", "Wreck-it Ralph", "24")

    FARMERS

...JK Simmons ("Law and Order", "The Closer")

    GEICO

... an animated Gold dust day gecko with a Cockney accent, voiced by English comedian and actor, Jake Wood.

    PROGRESSIVE

...Flo, a fictional character portrayed by actress and comedian Stephanie Courtney.

    Well???
