  • My job wants to confirm my doctors return to work order with the company doctor, is that allowed?

I had a surgery, took FMLA, and live in California. It was very minor, and I was out of work only 6 days. My doctor gave me a full release to return to work. The company I work for now states I need to see the company doctor to be released for work. Is this allowed? I thought FMLA prevented this type of thing.

  • I need Breaking Dawn help?

My fiance just informed me that I am going with her to see Breaking Dawn on Friday. Shooting myself is a viable option, but I think I am going to just go for points on this one. If I am stuck seeing this garbage, I'm going all out. I need to know what flowers would be associated with Breaking Dawn, or the series of books (Twilight?). Is their any food associated with it? I looked it up and Hot Topic sells this stuff so I'll pick up some Breaking Dawn trinket. If I'm going to have to suffer through this, I'm going to make it a Breaking Dawn extravaganza that she will never forget. Any suggestions that die-hards can give me will be appreciated. Thanks.

P.S. She knows I hate this glittery vampire crap.

  • My son got a jaywalking ticket, should i fight it?

This morning outside my sons school, he was being dropped off from his ride. They were stopped in a lane leading to a stop sign in the second lane, the next lane being a turn lane. His ride instructed them to get out of the car since they were stopped, he got out, walked around the back of the car, crossed the middle divider, and crossed the opposite side of traffic (no cars were coming).

A police officer was sitting up some stairs and issued about 15 tickets to a bunch of kids that did the exact same thing from other cars. He was issued a ticket for VC 21955 "jaywalking".

My question is, did he actually jaywalk?

i think he should have been in violation of VC 21956. No pedestrian shall walk upon any roadway outside of a business or residence district otherwise than close to his left-hand edge of the roadway.

We were discussing fighting the ticket by mail. Should i fight it, or will fighting it add more cost if we loose.

  • What recommendations for a 13 year old boy who loves to read?

My son loves to read and has liked the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, Harry Potter, and many others. He is maturing (13) and is looking for more books that interest him. We went to Barnes and Noble tonight and got "Black and White" by Kessler and Kitridge, and Dark Apostle by Reynolds. He is going to try those out to see if he like them. We will hit up the library next week. We are looking for good books for summer reading. I would prefer something that he will like that is more classic, but he wants stuff he enjoys. Please help.

  • Whats my last name??

I recently found out, my great grandfather was born under one name (Smith), and then moved to another state and started using another name (Jones), but did not legally change it, over 75 years ago. My entire family goes by the second name (Jones), but what is legal? Should we be under the first name?

  • How do I get over shyness to meet new people?

I can not bring myself to meet new people. Meeting people is the most stressful, anxious situation imaginable. How do I do it. I have been this way my entire life. Im confident, good looking, charming (at times), articulate, respectful. But regardless, I can not speak to new people. It was ok when I was younger, but now that I'm in my 30's, I dont have a single friend. Meeting women is near impossible, because of this. Its nuts, please any suggestions.
