  • when to stop using the pacifier?

when did you stop letting you little one use the pacifier? my son will be two on friday. he uses his pacifier only when he goes to sleep. he hasn't used it while awake for almost a year. and even when he is sleeping most of the time it falls out or he may be taking it out, so i was going to just not give it to him anymore. but when did any of you stop it.

  • what should i name my puppy?

i am getting a fawn boxer puppy. we will be getting him early august. and he will be 8 weeks old. the family that have him right now have been calling him Jack, which i kind of like, but would like to get some other ideas. i have a two year old son so the name needs to be fairly easy for him to say and remember. the puppy is fawn with white paws white on his muzzle and black around his eyes. thank you.

  • my son is kind of a picky eater any ideas?

my son will be 2 in august. he kind of picky when it comes to food. he not terrible but there just some stuff he wont eat. like most kids he not that into his veggies. he like corn and peas, but only if they are mixed in with potatoes. but other then that not so much.same with fruits, sometimes i can get him to take one bite of of something but he usually spits it out, he wouldn't even eat strawberries cut up into chocolate ice cream.! other then fruits and veggies he eats everything. so we give him V8 fusion juice to make up for what hes missing in real fruits and veggies. does anyone have some more secret ways to sneak fruits and veggies into his diet?

  • how did you potty train your toddler?

i am going to start potty training my son this summer, he is 22 months old and i know he is ready because he shows all the signs. but i have heard so many different ways to do it. like use a child potty chair and teach him to pee sitting down first. or use a potty chair but teach him to pee standing up first. or use one of the little seats that fits on your toilet and teach him to sit first, or use the same seat on the toilet but teach him to stand up first.. any way i just wanted to see what other people did, how it worked out for you and how long it took?

  • does this drive anyone else insane?

i hate it when people brag about their baby when there is really nothing to brag about. like a family member of mine has a 11 month old baby and she is constanly braging about how big she is and how smart she is and how advanced she is.. well if all that were true it would be fine but none of it is. they say she like 33 inches tall, NO shes more like 28 inches. they say she is soo close to walking, NO shes not even close to crawling and can not even hold herself up by herself. like that kind of thing.. it just drives me crazy!! i just want to smack them. i hate bragging to start with but if its not even true, im mean GRR.would this bother anyone else?

  • do you think could i be pregnant?

ok so i have an IUD (marina) and ive had it for about a year and a half now. my periods have been very irregular from the start, usually every other month. well its now May 18th and i havent had it since February 15th(i know its normal to eventually not have one at all). my breasts are sore, extra sleepy and ive been extra gassy lately.(both happened with my first baby) but i havent had any morning sickness yet. ive also been having dreams that im pregnant. now i dont really think i am but my husband keeps asking every time i mention any of the symptoms, and well its hard not to wonder if i am. if i take a pregnancy test the IUD would make a false positive would it? but if i dont have my period by next month i will take one anyways. thank you for your advice.

  • do you like huggies or pamper diapers best?

my son is 20 months old and wears pampers baby dry size 5 diapers. we use these because he always leaked out of huggies and got a ton of rashes from them, we used luvs once and wouldnt even finish the package because we hated them so much. the pampers he has never leaked out of them, except maybe at night once or twice. but i have heard that huggies is suposed to be better for boys(the opposite for us) so i was just wondering what you liked best and worst?

  • learning languages young?

how do you feel about your child learning new languages in preschool/elementary school?... i don't really like it. i know children are sponges and its easier to learn when they are young.. but i just think that these children should learn there own language first. now i can understand if you have mexican in your heritage and live in the u.s. that you want your child to learn spanish too. but if you are fully american i think the child should be taught proper english first. i just have seen SO many little kids that know a couple different languages but then when they speak english they mess it up horribly, and it drives me insane.. plus if they learn a language young they have too keep taking classes on it or speaking it everyday or else they will forget it and that also will hinder their learning of more important thing like math... what do you think about it?

P.S im not close minded so if you make a good argument i may consider teaching my son a new language.

  • how old was your baby when?

my cousins baby is 9 months old. i think she may be behind in her development, but its hard to tell because my son was early with everything. she only just is able to sit completely by herself, but cant get into the sitting position by herself and obviously cant crawl. how old was your baby when they could do it?...she also doesn't even babel for more then a second. how old was yours?...she is also still in an infant car-seat( the kind you can carry them in) when did your baby switch to the next size?.... i am asking all this because i am concerned, but since i don't know how old most babies are when the do all this stuff i don't want to be concerned if i shouldn't be.

  • will they be able to take the baby home?

ok so my brother got a girl pregnant. they met in a mental hospital(i know) so both of them arenot stable. my brother is now on meds and is almost back to normal. but the baby mama is still .. wel crazy. she has been back in there since being pregnant for threaaning to hurt herself and the baby. they are no longer together because shes such a pain in the but and is well really mean to my brother. my bro just wants the baby to be healthy and in safe safe place so he wants to put it up for adoption but she says no and that she will never let him see the baby. niehter of them are capible of taking care of a child the way it needs to be done. so my question is: will the hospital even let the baby go home?

PS i actually hope that it does get taken away.

  • can a baby really grow this fast?

so i know this girl who has a 7 month old girl. at 6 months old they said she was 16 lbs and 24 inches long. now only one month later she suposedly is 20 lbs and 29.5 inches long! now i dont think she looks even nearly this big. so my question is: Is it posible for a baby to gain 4lbs and grow 5.5 inches in just one month. by the waiegh i have a son who is 18 months old and the girl is the kind of person who has to make everything a compitition, which i think is dumb even though my son was bigger then her at every age so far and reached milestones faster. so is the girl i know just makeing this all up trying to seem better or is this actually posible?
