Should my husband come with me to a psych apointment?
I suffer from many mental diseases including Chemical Depression, SAD, ADD and a slight case of OCD. My husband tries to be very supportive but he doesn't quite understand how to help me cope on those days where I can't even drag my self out of bed. When I have my anxiety attacks he gets very scared and doesn't know what to do. Thanks to the proper medication most days I'm fine. However, as most with the mental health problems will attest to, I have my bad days. Should I bring him to a couple of appointment with my psychiatrist so he can learn some coping techniques or do I just bring him literature on the diseases? I never want to scare him and I don't want our marriage to suffer because of something I can't change.
7 AnswersMental Health1 decade agoDo you remember your wedding day?
My wedding was sunday and I remember the ceremony but the details of my reception are fuzzy. I remember starting conversations and never getting to finish them, there was the dancing and stuff but the details I don't recall. I just remember being busy and called in every which direction. I didn't drink any alcohol either. I barely even ate. Is that a normal thing? I just felt so busy. And the day after I was so exhausted. Was anyone else? Will I remember more when I see the pictures?
10 AnswersWeddings1 decade agoWhy is this racist?
When I was applying for college scholarships I saw ones for African-Americans, ones for Native Americans, ones for Asians, ones for those who are mentally or physically challenged, ones for Caucasians of a specific origin (i.e. italian, greek, german, etc). But when I looked for one for a white person who does not know their history I couldn't find one. So I looked it up and it appears that at one point there was one but it was shut down because it was deemed racist and I don't understand why. If your African American you don't have to be from a specific region to qualify, same with most of the other ones I saw.
BTW I didn't qualify for financial aid because my parents made too much money even tho I was paying for it my self and my grades only got me about 3,000 dollars. I was hesitant to take out a student loan and was trying everything I could to pay for my college education.

My husband and I are having a vow renewal. We never got a "real" wedding due to Naval interference. (They wouldn't give him leave for the original date so we eloped) It is a wedding in every sense but the legal part. I understand it is not proper, but I have been dreaming of this day since I was a little girl. His father is "officiating" and we have no clue what he should say. We have written our own vows so he doesn't need that part just the beginning. Any ideas? Thank you
