  • Casey Anthony Trial: Can someone explain the disposal of Caylee's body to me?

I haven't been paying too much attention to the case except what I see on the daily news. What I still don't get is how does Casey Anthony's defence explain the disposal of Caylee's body, the duct tape, and what do other material witnesses have to say about it?

This has been bugging me. As I hear about how important google searches are, it seems to me that the disposal of Caylee's body, especially if there was duct tape over her mouth, has to be the most damning fact in the case. I read they blame it on George Anthony. I'm not sure if that's true. If it is, what has he said about it? No one's accusing George Anthony of murder, what incentive would he have to lie? Shouldn't that entirely destroy any credibility of the defence?

  • Has anyone brought what's happening in this section to Yahoo admins?

It's getting nuts, y'all. Almost every question that's been asked today has been removed. I didn't think it was because people were reporting questions, but I've been to other sections, and there's definitely something weird going on here. Maybe a hockey hater with a few different alts. Reporting every question from several different accounts. It takes several reports from different accounts to get things removed.

I'm beginning to suspect it's one person deliberately targeting the hockey section.

  • How can I fix my windows start up?

Okay, I'm hoping someone here can help me. When I start my computer up windows(I have XP) isn't loading up normally. I get a message that reads

    "setting up personalized settings for:

    c:\program files\common files\microsoft services\S-1-5-21-38140844593-6813053193-6396658"

..that never goes away and the standard error message saying windows explorer encountered an error/needs to close.

Everything I'm doing now is through task manager because the background/start menu isn't loading up. The last thing I did before this problem was download a new version of itunes and restart my computer.

If you don't know exactly how to fix it, can you tell me if "microsoft services" is necessary or can I delete it? Might that fix the problem?

    Thank you for any advice,

  • Isn't this (zero)0bama phenomenon a good thing? Now we know which questions to avoid?

Seems pretty silly to me. But it's a pretty safe bet anyone writing 0bama isn't seeking a reasonable debate.

I like a good debate as much as the next person. In fact, I mainly answer questions I disagree with. But there's no point arguing with anti-Obama yahoo answers trolls.

    Anyone agree?

  • Republicans: how do you explain this? Most socialized democratic countries are the happiest?

    From a Forbes survey...

    http://travel.yahoo.com/p-interests-27761674;_ylc=...

There's a distinctive trend among the top 10 most happy/satisfied populations in the world. They're arguably the 10 most liberal democratic countries in the world

Without calling Forbes liberal propaganda... how do you explain this?

By the way, the US didn't crack the top 10.

  • If Osama Bin Laden was captured or killed, would it change your opinion of Barack Obama?

Mainly if you oppose Obama right now. Would Osama Bin Laden being captured or killed improve your opinion of Obama?

If not, why? And would you say the same thing if it happened while Bush was president?

  • Should Obama pull the plug on Iraq AND Afghanistan?

Iraq is a foregone conclusion. But Afghanistan too. I'm not a bleeding heart liberal talking about how they deserve to run their country and how the invasion was unjust. It just seems that being bogged down in occupations isn't the best long term use of American power.

I'm speaking from a strategic standpoint. And an economic standpoint. The current political view is you can withdraw from Iraq, but Afghanistan was the "just" war. But It's also unwinnable. There is no end game strategy. It's just status quo in an ever worsening situation where no central government ever did exist.

I'm not saying abandon pursuing terrorists. Leave a force there, on bases. That pursues terrorists in Afghanistan and over the border in Pakistan, both in the air and on the ground.

Is trying to create functional democracies, especially in Afghanistan where no strong central gov't, even a dictatorship, has ever existed, the best use of American power in the war on terror?

  • what was election night like for you?

Nov 4th, when Obama was elected. From both sides. I'm just interested in hearing your experience, and what you expected heading into it. Were you rooting for Obama and worried he might not win? Were you hoping McCain would win, holding out hope?

Were you following any other races? Senate? Congress? Gubernatorial?

  • Obama having dinner tonight with 4 leading conservative columnists?

    http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/

He has probably already concluded a dinner tonight at George Will's home that also included Charles Krauthammer, David Brooks, and Bill Kristol.

What do you think of this? Liberals and conservatives? Are liberals angered Obama would schmooze with figures that were often scathing of him and liberalism during the campaign? Conservatives: does this make you skeptical about the objectivity of some "elite" conservative editorial voices in Washington?

  • Hillary primary supporters: how would you feel if she's Obama's Secretary of State?

I guess this question is open to everyone... but Hillary supporters in particular. How do you feel about it?

Is Secretary of State better or worse than being his running mate?

Does this change your opinion of Obama?

What does it say about Obama's leadership style?

  • Obama's grandmother dies... do you people who called it a stunt feel ashamed of yourselves?

    A straight up question.

Sad that she didn't live just won more day to see her grandson potentially become president of the United States(president elect)

  • Is anyone here planning to drink on election night?

Simple question. For me I'm a political junkie(yes I'm not afraid to admit it). Though I'm a huge fan of sports I think this is even bigger. I'm just wondering if anyone else has similar plans.

  • Republicans/conservatives... what do you think of the Daily Show? John Stewart?

I'm just curious. There's nothing to really add to it.

Just be honest, whether you dislike it or not. Just give your honest opinion.

  • Did Sarah Palin really say "Iranistan"? I'd never heard that until today?

And I'm not convinced its true because a quick google search didn't turn up any credible websites making that claim.

I'm doubtful it is true, but if it is... .

  • Have you already voted for president? Who did you vote for?

I'm looking for people who've already voted, not who you intend to vote for. I know Y/A skews young... but I'm just curious.

And also, what did you sense from the crowd? Who do you figure most people there were voting for?

  • Am I the only one who's turned off by CNN's dial test bar during the debates?

Just curious, I've watched both debates, and now this one, on other channels because I want to see them straight, hear what they have to say, and not be distracted by gadgetry.

Anyone feel the same way? If not, what do you like about the dial test bar?

  • Is David Gergen a true pundit? Democrats and republicans, do you respect him?

Given the blurring of the lines as to what a pundit actually is... what do you think of David Gergen? Dems and republicans?

  • Can someone explain to me why a person would lie to a pollster about who they're voting for?

Based on David Gergen, who I respect a great deal, suggesting Obama may need to be ahead 6 points in order to win, because of race.

I understand racism still exists, and I'm not really debating the Bradley Effect either. I'm just wondering if someone could explain the thought process behind telling a pollster you'd vote for the black candidate and not doing so at the voting booth. Especially in this long, long election in which people have had 10 months of non-stop news to decide how they feel about it.

  • Do you think the VP debate was a GOOD debate? Compared to the 1st Presidential one?

I don't mean in terms of who won or who lost. Did you find it informative? Did they give specific answers?

Did you like the fact that there was no back and forth like in the presidential debate? Where McCain and Obama had five minutes after each question to go after each other?

Forget your partisan hats, in terms of information, was it a good debate?

    8 AnswersElections1 decade ago
  • how negative do you think this election will get, now that we're in the stretch run?

Forget partisanship for a second. How negative do you expect the advertising to get, especially in terms of 3rd party advertising, in these last 30 days?

Clearly it may be McCain's only shot. Will we see a swiftboat repeat? Will we see Rev. Wright ads on an almost endless loop 2 weeks before the election?

Do you think Obama will run any particularly nasty ads? Do you expect very nasty 3rd party ads from the left?

    Thoughts?
