  • Free homeschooling info?

I'm just starting to homeschool my children, 3yrs and 11mos. I will teach them at home all through school. I'd like to find as many TOTALLY free internet (or other) resources as possible. I am already planning to use my local library as I'm on a limited budget and would like to spend as little as possible. My husband and I are teachers so please leave out any advice about "getting what you pay for." Thank you so much for your help.

  • Itchy rashon back of baby's head?

My 7 month old has a slightly itchy rash on the lower back of her head. It's light red flat bumps Any suggestions? I'm an experienced mom so please skip the "take that baby to the dr." advice. Only helpful comments, please.

  • Bored while nursing, any fun websites?

I'm still nursing my 7month old and i'm bored. Anyone know of interesting websites that I can browse one-handed? She eats 6x a day and, because she has GERD I hold her for 30 minutes after each feeding.

  • I am 5 weeks pregnant with my second child and have been seeing spots ("floaters?). Is this normal?

I had this happen at about 7 mos with my 1st, but never thought to mention it to the doc. I imagine its going to get pretty annoying if it happens all through this pregnancy.

  • Pardon me for asking so many questions :)?

I don't have the foggiest idea where to begin. I'm thinking of homeschooling my son, starting w/preschool. We live in Northern Michigan. My son, 21 mos, is showing early signs of giftedness, loves to learn, and needs to be "kept busy." (Please take my word for it, rather than try to convince me otherwise.) I'm going to teach him preschool-type material this fall and perhaps kindergarten when he's ready. The problem is that I have no clue where to begin, if we decide to homeschool. Some of my questions involve Michigan laws, socialization, extra-curricular acitivities, etc. Please give me as many websites, and as much advice as you can. I'm willing to do the "footwork" but just need to know how to start. This is my 2nd question today, but probably won't be my last!

  • Estimated cost, per year, of homeschooling in Michigan?

My husband and I are trying to decide whether to homeschool our son or send him to a nearby private school. I will be doing "mommy preschool" this fall. Can anyone give me a rough idea how much homeschooling in Michigan costs (per year, K-8)? I am a stay-at-home mom, so cost IS a factor.

  • Does anyone know the "Vegimatic" song?

I learned it at camp long ago and would like to sing it to my son. It goes, "Vegimatic a pocket fisherman, too. A set of presidential plates so I can eat my eggs on the president's face." Some lines I can't remember and then "by the light of the master card moon." Thanx for your help.

  • Curbside service?

When ordering curbside service at a place like Applebee's is it customary to tip the person bringing out your food? I say no but my husband says yes, please settle this for us. If the answer's yes, how much is appropriate?

  • Anyone out there who got Bell's Palsy when pregnant?

I got Bell's Palsy when I was 8 mos. My son is now almost 18 mos and my face is just about as healed as its gonna get. Has anyone had hearing problems associated w/this? I do, still. I went to neurologist for it and she sent me to a hearing specialist. Well, the specialist basically told me that its "all in my head." Should I try another doctor?

  • My son's almost 18 mos...?

Is it too early to start potty training? I know that 2 yrs is the optimal time, but my son's VERY interested. Can I start this early if we make it an undemanding experience... just to sort of give him the general idea? He has a very large vocabulary (200 or so words) and often tells me when he's peeing or pooping. He also applauds Daddy and me when we go and says, "Yay, Potty!" I'm a stay-at-home mom so I have the time to devote to this, can it work or are we too eager?

  • Any advice on flying with a 17mo old?

I'm going to be taking my son to AZ for a week over Easter. This will be the 1st flight for both of us. It is about a 4 hour flight with a 2 hour layover in Chicago. I'm dreading it because my son has a hard time sleeping anywhere but home...and we're staying in a motel for a week. Please tell me what to bring. Has anyone had success in this type of situation?
