My roommate was telling me about a story he wishes to find again.. I've looked a little, but haven't found it. It is from the p.o.v. of a horse who is sold after his master dies. Another horse tells him that their job is to carry boxes... but they must be important as there are always people watching... the end the horse finds out that his first job is to carry his previous owner's casket during the funeral.. Any clues?

The first I've asked about before, nobody ever answered..

I believe it was a Lovecraft story.. (Not sure if he wrote it, or if it was one by another author in one of the Cthullu collections)

I remember it is talking about a camp site.. and a guy is boiling water in a kettle over a fire.. and the ending is basically saying that the kettle will keep boiling as the owner was eaten/killed/whatever.. Unfortunately that's all I remember.. There was a building up to it of course... but the memorable bit was the fact that by time the water boiled he was gone/dead and that it would keep making the whistling sound because no one was there to take it off.. once again.. I am almost positive this was a Cthullu story..

And the second one is going to be even more vague..

I used to have a subscription to Realms of Fantasy Magazine.. and there was a story I remember reading in there that I absolutely fell in love with.. but I've only got one of those magazines left, and it's not the one with the story in it..

This story breaks down to a kingdom.. where the king is offering his daughter as a prize.. but the twist is .. this was a story that detailed the alphabet and writing.. It's hard to describe after so many years.. but it had something to do with the beginning of vowels or something.. basically the daughter chooses her own mate.. (who ends up being a female character).. I wish I could give more info.. I'm sure if someone read it they'd understand what I was talking about.. but I'm not sure what YEAR it was.. let alone what month.. or who wrote it.. I am sure it was in Realms of Fantasy.. and the characters represented some sort of alphabet ..

I've already checked whocalledus.com and a few other sites..but no luck.. We have been getting strange numbers showing up.. the last one was just 419.. now, if this were PART of a number it would be on the sites, but all it says is Unknown and 419 where the phone number should be. We've had nothing but 0's show up on there before.. a few times it was just partial phone numbers.. but this is EVERY day that 419 has shown up. We've never been here to answer it when it rings.. never any messages left.. I don't know if it has something to do with Vonage or what.. Anyone know where this might be coming from?

Everytime I see them in a dog show (or read anything about them) it is said that the three sizes are completely different breeds.... and yet I have one from a miniature breeder that is CLEARLY standard size.. I met both parent dogs (who were just as clearly mini's) .. the vet said this is common.. a giant can have a mini puppy, a mini can have a standard (far less common for a mini to have a giant however)..

The rest of the litter in my case were mini.. , but he was not (he was twice the size of the others even at birth)

I'm just wondering if anyone can try to clear this up for me... I've had schnauzers my whole life.. most were exactly what you expect a mini to be.. but I have 2 at this moment who could NEVER be mistaken for minis.. regardless of parantage.

I've tried looking it up, but it just says the "seperate breeds" stuff.. Obviously, I don't care.. I love my dogs.. (all 4 of them), have no interest in showing them.. this is just something that I've been wondering about.

I hate adding another, but .. I have to.

I am watching the second Librarian movie.. (The Librarian return to king soloman's mines http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0455596/ ) and the beginning of the movie has him looking for The Crystal Skull.. This sequel is not that old, but the series itself is kind of like a "spoof" of Indiana Jones (in which he is a librarian not an archeologist) .. Was the Crystal Skull theme meant to give a nod to this movie, or were they just that hard up that they couldn't think of anything more original ? (I know the legends around the Crystal Skull itself, it's just the similarity between the movies that bothers me.. when The Librarian was done well over a year ago.

Alright, having someone use this movie in a question on here, and seeing no one get it right.. I am Curious.

How many people have watched Hedwig and the Angry Inch (either the movie OR the play)?

This is among my absolute favorite movies of all time, and I am stunned at how few people have heard of it.

Yesterday I had to go to a med center because I can't straighten my back or walk do to intense pain in my lower back.. They did x rays and there is no fracture.. They diagnosed me as having a UTI ... my question is.. how could I have no symptoms at ALL and then crippling pain.. but still none of the normal symptoms such as painful urination..etc..? I have no insurance, so I am afraid that there is something wrong with my back but they just did a quick diagnosis to get me out of there.. Even the morphine shot they gave me did nothing to ease the pain. ..

Note: I do have a family history of medical problems with few to no obvious symptoms.. this just seems like a stretch to me..

I rented this movie within the last ten years but it had to have been before 2006. (I started working in a video store, so no longer had to pay to rent movies.. )

What I remember is that it is about a family.. there are like 5 kids or so.. the parents treat them horribly.. one day when they make one of the kids do an oil change on their car, they interrupt him and take the car.. They end up dying in an accident. The kids somehow manage to cover it up. These kids DO end up getting away with it in the end.. (and you find out it wasn't quite an "accident") It was probably an Indie or low budget movie.. no famous actors that I recall in it.

I know I will kick myself when I see the answer.. as I know I should remember it..it's been bugging me for awhile though.

Okay, so here's the problem.. I have a 96 corsica that I bought used almost 2 yrs. ago.. Recently it broke down due to several problems at once.. The biggest problem is the Crankshaft Position sensor.. Now, I have someone who can fix it, I bought the part that is supposed to be for my car.. and it doesn't fit. It seems that at some point someone changed the engine of the car with another car completely.. so in order to fix it we have to be able to find out what make/model/year to buy the piece for..

They've tried matching it with similar cars, but no luck.. it's a shorter sensor with 3 prongs.. (I have no idea what that means).. Does anyone know a way to figure out what car it would be? (He said they tried matching it with what auto zone carried, and they didn't see one like it)

I read this probably 15 years ago.. in school.. I am pretty sure it is a well known author.. I just can't remember the name of the story, or author for the life of me..

I remember it takes place in the woods by a lake.. I think someone was camping.. but they die.. and the most memorable thing about it was that they had put a tea kettle over the fire, and it went on an on about the fact that the kettle was whistling... leaving you with the feeling that it may never stop because the person died.. (even though logic suggests that the water would burn out, the pan would be destroyed, or the fire would go out.. ) It's been bugging me for awhile now.. and I'd love to read it again..

Note, this was probably from a lit class, but may even have been a Lovecraft story.. ( I doubt it, but it's not impossible) Anyone have a clue?

I live with my mother and her two older schnauzers (she had surgery.. so I moved back to help her).. My problem is that now that hers are showing signs of aging my dog is going after them.. I know how to deal with it when I am home, and it seems to work.. they are fine when no one is there as well.. but if my mother or her boyfriend are in the house he pulls the dominance act over the other two dogs and my mother freaks out. I don't think it's as aggressive as she thinks it is.. it's just a dominance "fight", but she won't do what I tell her to do when it happens and it does not happen when I am around. (Because all 3 dogs see me as the boss, while the older schnauzer sees himself that way with my mother.. and now apparently my dog wants to as well)

How do you: A: train a dog to stop something when you are not present, or B: Get an unwilling person to "train them".. when she's used to giving in to her own dogs.?

The guy was IDENTICAL to my Grandfather.. (although now that my grandfather IS that old it is even more Identical).. but, I'm not finding any trace in the legitimate lines.. It doesn't help that my grandfather never asked his father about any of the family history. Is there any way to trace illegitimate children... I know there were plenty of rumors, but have found no actual names. The common "family" names seem to be Truman and Kelsey.

I've wanted to be a real Rennie for years. I can't afford the SCA (and they aren't terribly active out here anyway) I was SO close to being IN, I joined up with a fighting group that was just starting out .. it was split off from the other side of the state.. but we only had 3 meetings and the two "leaders" fought.. and ended it.

I have volunteered at our local Faire.. I have talked to other members .. I don't know what else I can do.. I am a bit shy, and I do need some work in the acting department.. (I've never done it..) .. The guy that was training me with the Bo-staff said I was doing really well my first day.. (I had practiced with my friend before that).. but the other group has practice every other week on the other side of the state..

I don't care THAT much if it's fighting, but I want to be cast at some point.. anyone have any tips?

I thought it starred Parker Posey, but don't see it in any of her profiles.. so it must be someone else.. It has an indy feel to it..

It all takes place in one night at a high school reunion (Not Roamie and Michelle).. The one detail I remember specifically is that one of the "popular" people had a kid..maybe 2 kids.. she did something to tick off one of the "less poplular" .. this woman (the one that reminded me of Parker Posey) calls her house and somehow gets the babysitter scared.. the parent gets the kid, and the other offers to watch it.. and then takes off with the baby.

There is alot more to it than that, but that's the only real detail I recall..

The Dvd of Momento there was a way to get the sequences to play backwards.. (well.. in order.. so from the last sequence to the first).. I know it works, but I lost the code!.. It had to do with "pscych test" type thing in the menu.. you have to get the correct answer for each question for it to work.. Does anyone remember it?.. I want to show someone.. but I haven't watched it that way in a few years..

Okay, I have a sound clip online from the series.. but even though I've watched almost all the episodes.. I don't remember this.. It is a debate between servo and crow about whether a character is male or female mentions of Kathy Rigby (can't spell her name) as peter pan come in.. one line.. " You might as well tell me to prove that a fish is a fish... it just is and as for these phantom breasts.. I think my friend has been in space too long. " and something about a William F. Buckley impression. Anyone know which episode?

I already know the answer, so no telling me to google it, or search IMDB.. this is to see if anyone else knows it... It's a great movie..
