I learned about financial aid when my daughter was going to college and we didn't have any money. She eventually earned nearly $90,000 in scholarships, and I found myself a new career sharing what we'd learned with others. I have worked as a college financial aid officer and director for a number of years at private and for-profit schools, and at a state university. I also volunteer as a consultant for a non-profit organization of FA advisors who try to provide students with free, unbiased and accurate information.
