1 AnswerSingles & Dating6 years agoSound problems with Windows 8 following recent update?
I have no sound after Windows security updates in the last 1-2 weeks on my laptop
Ever since I received the latest security patches on my Windows 8 machine I no longer have sound. I performed a system restore prior to the patches and my sound returned. However since windows updates automatically, the patches were re-installed and gain I have no sound.
Any ideas what I can do?
I don't really want to update to 8.1 as it's not compatible easily with some things but maybe I have to? I noticed someone else has the same issue so it's not just me

4 AnswersCooking & Recipes7 years agoDo you freeze pasta? If so does it turn out ok?
I always make my own pasta sauces usually tomato based and freeze in portions so then I just need to reheat the sauce and cook some pasta. Someone suggested cooking pasta and freezing as a complete meal and so I was wondering if anyone does this and if so is it ok? They suggested having a bit more sauce than usual so that the pasta is fully coated.
5 AnswersCooking & Recipes7 years agoThoughts on gym routine and progression?
So the gym set me up on 10 mins cycling...1 min level 3, 1 level 4 til 10mins, 10 mins hand cycling for want of a better description...2 mins level 4, 2 mins level 5, 2 mins level 6, 2 mins level 4 and 2 mins level 5 then on the treadmill 15 mins 1.5% gradient 1min 4kmh then 1 min 5kmh til 15mins. 4=5 times a week.
This is too easy for me. Cycling covers the most distance and the most calories but I find it hardest, I'm a bit scared to let go of the bar on the treadmill so not sure running is an option unless someone can help how to build confidence. I've been increasing all activities a bit myself and going to book a review at the gym but what's your thoughts? Increase time? Increase difficulty?? Add in more equipment like the cross trainer? Some weights?
I want to get fit and lose weight and maybe 3 dress sizes but want to do it safely and healthily. And I love the gym! V competitive even with myself so I know I can do it just trying to see the best way.
And yes, I will get professional advice just like to hear the general thoughts from real people that have done the same
2 AnswersDiet & Fitness7 years agoWhat should I eat before/after the gym?
I've been going to the gym 3-4 times a week for the last few months and I really enjoy it. Love pushing myself a bit more each time and seeing the results. On work days it's 5pm I'm ready to start and I spend about 45mins cycling, walking/jogging. What should I be eating and when before and after? The staff at the gym have given me their advice, just wanting to know what others think. At the weekends my time varies but during the week going straight from work suits me best.

3 AnswersOther - Cultures & Groups8 years agoWhat's a good training plan to get walking then running for longer which you can do at the gym?
Currently I'm 10mins cycling, 10mins cycling with hands http://www.fitnessworld.co.uk/technogym-top-xt then 15mins on the treadmill but my aim is to run so how do I get there? I like the idea of couch to 5k podcasts but not sure how they can work on a treadmill without getting the gym staff to update your programme each week. Any tips at all are very appreciated.

1 AnswerOther - Careers & Employment8 years agoWhat should I make tomorrow?
I've been trying out new things recently and not sure what to cook/bake. No jars or anything, everything from scratch and I eat pretty much anything and love learning new skills.
For info recently I've made profiteroles, crumpets, pizza dough, garlic and rosemary foccacia, chicken tikki chasni, salt n pepper chicken, szchehuan chicken, kung po chicken, chicken satay.
