  • Basic Chemistry question, please explain?

I'm having difficulties with base and acid.

this is how I see it

pH- a scale from 1-14 that shows how acidic or basic a substance is.

base (weaker acids)- hydrogen ion has a strong bond with its molecule; not giving up hydrogen ion.

stronger acid- Hydrogen ion has a weak bond with its molecule, therefore getting rid of its ion, hence becoming a base.

I don't know if my definition is right, please add more info to it!

  • What's a multiple? explain please!?

i know a multiple is any number divisible by that number. e.g. 3 is a multiple of 36 as 36 is divisible by 3. but what about this. common multiple of 4/(x+1) + 3/ (x-2)? i don't get the multiple part.. in this case i would just make the denominators the same but once again i don't get what they mean by multiple... best answer will get 10 points.
