  • The effects of retards like Soulja Boy...?

Well, I like music in general, and most of every type of rock music. I've always stayed away from rap music since I always assumed it was retards like Chris Brown and Soulja Boy, since, well, that's ALL you hear rap wise in the popular media (and no, I don't just listen to popular rock, I just didn't get into rap because of the poor impression the popular stuff left). But lately I've been getting into Public Enemy and Saul Williams and other such political rap groups and found that I like it a lot. I just wanted to ask, did anyone else here have a poor opinion of rap because of these popular "artists"?

  • The Wii, and why it shouldn't be considered next generation.?

Seriously people, I own a Wii and am disappointed by it's lack of features. Yeah yeah I get how it has motion sensor, that's all fine and good, but how can something without a ******* hard drive or a decent CPU chip ever be considered next gen? Not to say that graphics are everything, gameplay is more important, but waving a stick around for a while gets old. I can count the decent games on one hand, hell I haven't touched the thing after the whole "Ohhh motion sensor, fancy." phase which lasted a week. Probably won't even go near it until Manhunt 2 comes out. And don't even get me started on the fanboys of this thing, thinking they're superior to PS3 and 360 gamers because they're not sitting down. Please, someone explain how this can really be considered truly next generation?

  • Pep rallies, somebody explain the point?

I have one coming up probably next month and honestly, what's the point? Oh and don't give me that "to have school spirit" bullshit, school spirit is useless. At least at my school. Most of the people there are dumb as **** and our only accomplishment is a basketball team. Then we for some reason have to all crowd into the gym, listen to repetitive rap or pop music and hate on some other obscure school I also do not give a **** about. Theres a few problems wrong with this. They assume everybody has school spirit (only stupid people do), they assume everyone likes only mainstream, new music and they make it mandatory. I'm actually missing a class most of the time to be at this useless crap. So, someone enlighten me, why should I give a **** about pep rallies and school spirit?

  • You know, I could never wrap my mind around this. Anyone care to give it a shot?

Now half of this problem no longer applies to me since I'm in advanced classes but has anyone else noticed academic expectations going as low as possible but athletic expectation still high? I mean in English last year we spend forever on the simplest subjects because people didn't "get it", sometimes we even got much easier work than other classes because our class was so ******* stupid. Yet in my PE class I'm expected to run 2.5 kilometres in under 10 minutes for an A. This basically shows people will always value the dumb sack of **** who can run fast or is athletic (and a few notches lower on the evolution chart than me) over the intellectual because they dumb down the classes but not the athletic classes. If you can't do a simple essay, don't worry we'll lower the standards to fit your stupid ***. But God help you if you don't work out 24/7 and play sports in all your free time. Now I'm not bashing working out, I do it to stay in shape, but I don't do it all the time.

  • My school has crappy priorities, does nobody have a problem with this?

You know I started school last week. I like all my courses (except PE, but I'm lazy at physical work so that's to be expected) mainly because I got into a lot of advanced and interesting classes. However, one thing bugs me. I was in Marketing 11 and I could just not connect to the server to get my work, in fact nobody in the class could. Keep in mind there are only 30 people here, our servers are so ******* old they get timed out at 30 people accessing one file. Now first thing that comes to mind is "Oh, our school gets poor funding, sucks.". However I then had PE, where we have over 100 basketballs, several weight machines and 20 sets of solid steel weights. It sickens me that our school prioritizes athletic skill over academic and technological skill, I couldn't do any ******* work on the computer because all the money goes to ******* Bowflex machines. Only people who also feel this way are fellow tech nerds, and since they don't get the school trophies nobody probably cares.
