  • Weird knocking sound from top center of my motor. Need help?

It's my daughters car, and its a 1995 Ford Taurus SHO. The knock is only at idle and is loudest at the top of the motor, dead center of the intake manifold. We have pulled the intake and it looks that all the valves and cam shafts are fine. When she rev's the motor, the knock goes away and is only at idle. Any ideas would be deeply appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

  • 1995 Isuzu Rodeo Running very rich.?

Recently the water pump went out and I replaced the timing belt at the same time. We used the timing marks on all pulley's an though we put it back right. The obvious logic says we are off on the timing, BUT the motor runs perfectly smooth. No misfires or back fires at all. There is just a ridiculous amount of black smoke and rancid smelling exhaust coming when I step on the gas, with a noticeable amount of power loss.

Question 1. Would being a tooth of on one cam be enough to retard the timing where it would cause motor to not misfire but not burn all fuel either?

Question 2. What else might cause this issue?

I think the timing is a bit retarded but my buddy says that there would be other signs besides it running very rich. Any help would be deeply appreciated. Thank you in advance.

  • How do I fix an issue with changing the vents blow direction?

I have an 05 Wrangler. Here is the issue. The heater/ ac only blows to the defrost vent regardless of what setting I have it on. I had this exact same issue about 2 yrs ago and got it repaired at the dealer. They said it was a vacuum issue. I was stupid and didn't as what it was then, and I don't want to pay the dealer again as it is not covered by warranty. I live in Las Vegas and they say that it was from the heat drying out a hose. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks for the help.

  • 2001 Toyota Tacoma V6. Miss-firing on cylinders 1, 3, & 5?

It worked one night, next morning engine light came on when I started it and ran like poo. I had someone look at it and they tried telling me its my injectors. I found that a little tough to swallow as it happened literally over night and to 3 cylinders. I have since cleaned the injectors thoroughly, cleaned out the throttle body and made sure my fuel line was clear. I also replaced the fuel filter. Now I'm at an in-pass. I'm thinking perhaps my timing belt needs replace, or is it something else. Truck has 150,000 miles and is my work truck. Any assistance would be very appreciated.

  • yzf-r1, 2001, neutral indicator. Is there any way to bypass this senser?

I have verified that Sensor is working, but seem to have a problem with the wiring somewhere. When the bike does not recognize that it is in neutral it will not engage the starter, nor will it allow me to put down the stand while running. the wiring has been tested into the starter relay connection but after that the wires change colors and I am having a hard time tracing them. If there is a bypass that will allow me to run with out the Sensor, I would be way cool with that. Please help. thanks.

  • I currently ride an 01 R1. Can anyone tell me what would cause the clutch to go out literally over night?

I took it for a 150 mi ride sunday and it ran perfect. No problems what to ever, not even a slight hick-up. Yesterday, I hopped on it to go to the store and made it about half a mile before the clutch started slipping. It does this through 3rd gear. No I dont stunt it, just like to go fast, so the issue is not from clutching up the front end. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
