How can i have an art style that has everything i want in it?
I've been having a bit of trouble developing my own art style that can achieve everything i want out of it, but still be able to mingle well and look professional. Through the past 4 years I've had several styles i've used, but i always kept changing it because i would find more flaws than pluses in them. I'm really not sure what direction to take now, because i want something with really thin, noodle-y, cartoonish body styles, but detailed ways to show the facial types of my characters. but the two don't mix well, so i'm not sure how i can compromise.
my art has gone from really old cruddy anime, http://fc04.deviantart.net/fs51/i/2009/300/e/1/Bac...
http://fc05.deviantart.net/fs71/i/2010/042/d/6/HOB...
to some weird 'cartoon' attempt

http://fc01.deviantart.net/fs71/i/2010/225/6/5/I_P...
and a couple other styles that don't really matter..
but my most recent style is this, http://fc09.deviantart.net/fs71/i/2011/167/9/c/see...
http://fc03.deviantart.net/fs71/i/2011/224/d/5/hat...
http://fc08.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2011/266/b/1/i_l...
(i gave examples in case it may hold some sort of answer or something, i don't know XD)
i'm not sure what type of direction i should be going in, or what part of my work i should keep and what i should change. i don't really want realism or anime, i want cartoons - i've tried realistic cartoon but it wasn't very easy/fun, and it stressed me out more than when i normally draw, xD [ http://fc04.deviantart.net/fs71/i/2011/256/5/5/dur... ] plus i don't like the body style.. and the facial shapes (jaw, chin, etc) aren't very easy for me at all, even with practice.
i'm sorry this is so wordy, but i'm trying to provide the most information i can to make it easier to those who want to answer.
basically, i just want to know how i can express a character's facial/body details/types on a loose, curvy noodle-cartoon style. [if there's a way, that is]. if not, what's a style that's close to the one i have now but a little more detailed?
thank you so much. <33
