  • What do you think makes a city?

What do you believe are the best qualities a large major global city should have? Plenty of parks? Good transport? Low crime? And what major metropolis' around the world do you think have these qualities? Have your say on the matter.

  • How long does it take to get by train from Toronto to Niagara Falls?

Or is there a quicker way? (Driving is not an option because I don't have a license). Also do you know how much a return fare might cost? If you've travelled by train from Toronto to Niagara Falls, please let me know.

    Kind Regards.

  • Is it right to be dishonest?

I have received a lot of criticism lately because 'I'm too honest', which I find a bit annoying because I was brought up to believe that being honest was a good thing. However, it seems to me that lying is more acceptable these days. Am I right or wrong? Your views.

  • Why do so many Americans want to move to England?

On this site I've come across so many questions that go something like this; "OK, so I'm like, in the US and I wanna move to England (Insert question here)". And my responding question to them is why do you Americans want to live in England? What is so wonderful about dreary old England that you want to give up your lives in the US?

It's not as if you're like Britain's other main immigrant groups (Poles, Turks, Pakistanis etc). Your quality of life in America is generally among the finest in the world. So why leave for a slightly poorer country? Please enlighten me.

    Kind Regards.

  • Is it possible to give up smoking on nothing but will-power?

I am planning for the first time to give up smoking very soon. But I currently do not plan to use any nicotine patches, or gum or anything like that. It might sound crazy, but I plan to curb the habit relying on nothing but a sense of determination not too smoke. Have you ever managed to give up smoking using just your will-power? Was it easy or hard? Or is it impossible?

  • Why does Scotland want Independence?

Do you Scots really hate us English that much, that you want Independence from us? Was it something we did or said?

I also ask the same question to the people of Wales seeking independence. I'm of mainly Welsh descent myself so I'm not biased or anything, but seriously, do you really find independence necessary?

  • Calling all Fluent German Speakers!

I have been studying the German language for nearly a year now, and although my skills are constantly improving, my knowledge of the language is still at a fairly basic level, so to speak. And I strongly hope one day that I can speak German as fluently as a native.

So what I'm asking anyone out there who has learnt fluent German as a second language or something, is basically how have you done it? Did you use books? courses? PC software? Did you go to college in Germany perhaps?

    Kind Regards
