  • What should I do when my dog gets aggressive?

    I have a Shih-Tzu/ Lhasa Apso dog who is 4 years old and I've had him since he was 6 weeks. Normally, he is very friendly and playful, but I have noticed that sometimes at night, he gets aggressive and if I look at him in the eyes he attacks me by barking, growling, and running at me. My dad then tells him "down" really loudly and my dog gets down and lays his head on the ground. If I look at him in the eyes again though, he does the same thing and gets aggressive. He also does this when he has a treat, but I can understand that he is protecting his 'special food'. My dog just bit me and I'm afraid that it might happen again. What can I do to prevent this or fix his random aggressiveness?
