Legally crack a game?
I bought Crysis Warhead off of Steam today and I want to avoid installing SecuRom. I have an ISO of the game already that I downloaded from a torrent, with the SecuROM cracked and removed from it. Would It be possible to use my legal CD key from Steam in the cracked Crysis Warhead download so I can avoid SecuRom from invading my computer? Would the multiplayer (Crysis Wars) work OK too?
1 AnswerPC1 decade agoWhich brand of graphics card is better?
I am debating whether I should get HIS or Sapphire brand of the AMD HD6850 graphics card. Both cards have the same GPU and memory clocks, but my biggest concern is that which one overclocks higher, and which one runs cooler and/or quieter. Both are similarly priced at $180 for HIS and $185 for the Sapphire HD6850. Please help me decide.
2 AnswersAdd-ons1 decade agois the Intel Core i5 Adequate for Gaming?
I currently have a computer running with a Core i5 650 dual core at 3.2 ghz, 8gb DDR3 ram, and an ATI HD4650. I want to upgrade my GPU to an AMD HD6850, but I have heard horror stories about bottlenecking a GPU with a dual core CPU. This model of processor features hyper threading, which imitates a quad core, and turbo boost which self-overclocks the CPU if there is heavy load.
In a nutshell, would I get good gaming performance with a dual core i5 (3.2 ghz) with an AMD Radeon HD6850?
I plan on playing Crysis, Battlefield Bad Company 2, and Grand Theft Auto IV with the PC.
3 AnswersDesktops1 decade agoCan I use an AMD Radeon HD6850 with this PSU?
I ran a test on Antec's power supply calculator with my PC's specs.
I have:
Intel Core i5 650, 3.2 GHZ Dual Core with stock cooling (heatsink and fan)
8gb RAM (4 Sticks of 2gb DDR3)
DVD-RW Drive
ASUS G31 Wireless G Network Adapter (for standard PCI)
5400 RPM 80gb 2.5 inch SATA laptop drive (Seagate Momentus)
7200 RPM 1tb SATA hard drive (Seagate)
I have no extra fans or lights inside of my case. My CPU is not overclocked, and I am using an OEM ASUS motherboard that initially came with my computer (Model CG-5275 AR003).
I have a 400 watt power supply. When I entered these specs into the Antec power calculator, it recommended a 370 watt PSU or higher if I were to use an AMD HD6850 card. The brand I plan on getting is H.I.S. for the graphics card. I am currently using an XFX Radeon 4650 for PCI express x16.
Should I trust the power calculator and stay with my 400 watt power supply, or should I upgrade? I do own a 550 watt PSU, but it sounds very loud, like a hairdryer.
