  • Japanese Crest - Looking for more information.?

Japanese Crest - Looking for more information.

I recently stumbled upon my family’s Japanese crest in a video game:

    http://sengokubasara.wikia.com/wiki/%C5%8Ctani_Yos...

I’ve known this crest since I was a child and the family Kimono has been passed down to me with this crest hand dyed into the fabric.

Is there a way to find more information about this crest? Even when I went to Japan a few years ago, this was not a crest I saw anywhere. I’ve only met one other person who also had this crest in the States and she was in the same boat as me with little info, only that she knew this was her family crest.

My Grandparents and the last of my first generation Japanese American family has already passed away or suffer from alzheimer's so I am unable to ask any more questions about the family crest.

All I know is that it came from my Mom’s Grandmother’s side (Sasaki).

  • Anal Sac (Gland) removed, have you done it?

I’m looking to hear from owners who have done this for their pet & hoping for a light & the end of the tunnel.

My Klee Kai had to have her anal sacs removed due to them rupturing consistently after drainage & antibiotics from numerous vet visits over the past month & a half. She had the surgery 10 days ago & is still having problems passing stool on her own terms.

She would be leaking consistently & almost every 30 minutes I would need to wash her off to keep stitches clean (to avoid infection). Any time she starts to leak, the area around would get red, inflamed & swollen. As soon as I clean it with warm water (no rubbing/wiping, just very low pressure from a shower head) & add ointment, the swelling goes down & the area goes back to pink. She starting having regular bowel movement on her term 7 days after surgery, but come day 8 she was back to how she was after the surgery & hasn’t made any improvements. Lately after cleaning off her rear & patting her dry there would be small splotches of blood (definably not coming from the stitches). She is consistently being watched 24/7 since the operation to avoid any ‘scooting’ & always has her e-collar on.

Anyone who had to have their dog’s sacs removed, did you experience any of these complications? How long did it take for things to return to normal?

** I am consistently communicating with my vet since the operation. But I would like to hear from from more owners on their personal recovery experience.

  • Which online streaming services will have the new Doctor Who episodes starting this month?

I’m looking for online sites or streaming sites that will have the newest episode up the day or the next day it is released. I’m fine with paying a subscription fee, but I am looking for which offers the best service.

I have paid for iTunes season pass before but I am curious if there are other options? like Hulu? Amazon Prime?

How do they all compare in terms of feed quality?

Trying to look for a 6 volt rechargeable lithium ion battery (2000mAH or higher). Does it even exist? Looking for a small slim compact battery for an animatronics project that can power two small 6v servo motors (on an off motion) for 4+ hours.

  • Best place to do last minute visiting/shopping in Tokyo before my flight?

My flight departs at 8:30pm so I'm looking to see where the best place would be to hang and shop around before hopping on the train back to Narita Airport.

I haven't decided on which train line I will be taking yet, it all depends on where I go (more likely either the Keisei Skyliner or the NEX). The hotel I will be checking out of is in Ikebukuro.

  • Need help getting around Kyoto - Trains, Busses ect..?

Part of my group plan on visiting Kyoto for a day and we want to hit up these places:

    Ryōan-ji

    Kinkaku-ji

    Nijo Castle

    Fushimi Inari Taisha

I'm still trying to figure out the best way to get around to these areas and starting to get a little confused.

We will be staying right next to Shin-Osaka Station. At this point of the trip, we will have our 7day JR pass activated. Would it be worth it to get the Kyoto Tourist 1-Day bus/subway pass? (I'm still rather confused about which bus lines are covered by the JR pass..)

Few of my notes that I have pulled up so far. Please give me suggestions and or better alternatives (and other suggested places near by to visit).

    Shin-Osaka --> Ryōan-ji

    - From Shin-Osaka Station - Take JR Tokaido/Sanyo Main Line towards Kyoto Station

    - From Kyoto Station take JR Sanin Main Line Toward Sonobe - get off at Enmachi Station

    - Walk to 西ノ京円町(バス)and Take Bus 204 北大路バスターミナル行

    - Get off at わら天神前(バス)??

    - Walk? (30min)

    * On japan-guide.com it says that there is a direct bus line but I can't figure out which bus??

**Is there a faster route from Shin-Osaka to Kyoto Station?

    Ryōan-ji --> Kinkaku-ji

    - Walk to Kinkaku-ji? (30min)

    Kinkaku-ji --> Nijo Castle

    - Walk to 金閣寺道(バス)

    - Take 204 bus towards 北大路バスターミナル行

    - Get off at 堀川丸太町(バス)

    - Walk

Nijo Castle --> Fushimi Inari Taisha

    - Walk to Nijo Station, take JR Sanin Main Line to Kyoto Station

    - From Kyoto Station take JR Nara Line, get off at Inari Station

    - Walk

I was using Google Maps. Anyone else have other alternatives for navigation? I plan on having my ipad on me with a mobile hotspot.

Little note: my Japanese is not that great and I can't read Kanji (just Hiragana and Katakana) :(

  • How do you embedded a text(.txt) documents into website page?

How do you embedded a text(.txt) documents into website page using CSS or HTML where the font effects are applied to the text?

I'm trying to design a website where the client can easily update text on the website by just changing/uploading a new text document.

I've come across a few ways of doing this with html, but it does not apply the font effects to the text. It displays in standard TXT font and I can't even change the color.

I've read up on ways to do this in PHP or SQL, but I'm a novice when it comes web developing and only understand how to read HTML and CSS.

I'm really looking for a solution that could be done with HTML or CSS (no Java please).

    Thank you.

What Nikkei Generation would I be?

Looking at my Grandmonther's side, I would be Yonsei. But on my Grandfather's side, I would be Sansei.

My grandmother is a Nisei, and my grandfather is a Issei.

Would I be categorized in the older or earlier generation?

  • Kindle Fire for international travel? (or Ipod Touch?)?

I'm going to Japan this coming March and I will be back-packing the whole trip.

So instead of carrying 2-3 books plus maps and a currency converter, I figured it would be easier to have it all in digital format in just one device.

Which one would be better for offline travel?

Which has better resource Apps? Better International Map Apps?

I may have the opportunity to borrow the new Ipad, but is it really worth it to compared to owning one of the first two options? (It seems like the battery life on the new Ipad is fairly poor)

I'm not worried about the weight differences between an Ipod Touch and the Kindle Fire. Money is not a factor in my decision. I'm not interested in any smartphone devices.

  • Planning a trip to Japan. Need Advice?

I'm planning a trip to Japan next year (Late Winter - Early Spring) for about 2 weeks.

I will probably have about 3 other friends going with me and our plan is to 'backpack' pretty much the whole trip (ex. only bring 3 days worth of clothes to change, use a laundry mat to wash them, and most likely throw out half of the clothes we bring and buy new clothes as souvenirs). We will probably stay in Tokyo for the first few days and then head south to Kyoto and Osaka, and then back up to Tokyo for the remainder of the trip. We plan on hopping around and staying an hostels or capsule hotels (maybe a few tourist hotels near the end or beginning of the trip).

How much money should each of us bring (not counting souvenir purchase or plan ticket purchase)?

We have also been considering cellphones as well. What is the best way to go? Rent? Prepaid? Or upgrade current cellphone for International travel? (we would probably text more than call)

Is the Visitor Rail Pass worth it? Which one should we get?

Are there places in Tokyo where we could rent out a locker of some sort to store extra luggage?

Recommendations on attractions? Places to stay?

Things that were helpful on your trip? Things you wish you brought? (calculator, sunscreen, guide, map, ect..)

I'm really looking for advice from recent vacationers that have gone within the last few years.

Advice to other Japan travel topics that I have not mentioned is greatly appreciated.

  • Raw Dog Food Diet. Tips, Suggestions, and Recommendations?

I was unsure about a raw food diet at first for my 4 month old dpg (Alaskan Klee Kai), but after getting a few samples of Stella & Chewys Beef she's become really addicted to it. So I bought a 6lb bag.

For breakfast I've been feeding her the rest of the Blue Buffalo Wilderness cans I have and Taste of the Wild kibble. And for dinner I've been mixing a raw patty and a handful of Taste of the Wild.

Is it a good idea to mix kibble and raw dog food beef together? The person giving the samples away said no and that I should feed her 3 patties twice a day :\ but I was pretty sure she was just saying that just to get me to by more.. (I know chicken and kibbles are not good to mix)

Also, I've heard a lot of people who feed their dogs a raw food diet will at times buy discounted/scrap meat at the grocery store and have the butcher ground it up for them. Any good recipe books to prepare the meat for dog consumption? (I want to avoid all poultry type recipes)

Also, pre-prepared Raw Dog food patties can be pricey. Any good brands that sort of meet in the middle in terms of quality and price?

  • Can someone diagnose my cold?

Here are my symptoms: fever, sharp back pain, throbbing headaches, shivering, hot flashes, loss of appetite, restlessness, dizziness

I've been feeling like this since Saturday and it doesn't seem like its getting better. I just checked my temperature and I'm at 104. I'm not coughing and anything I ingest tastes metallic, including water. I've tried several different cold medicines, like Night Quill, and it seems to have no effect. It doesn't even make me drowsy. I haven't had solid food since Saturday.

  • When is the best time to spay my Alaskan Klee Kai?

    I'm gathering many recommendations from multiple sources. I've ask the breeder along with other breeders, to my vet and a few others. Now I'm trying to reach out to owners;

When is the best time to have my female Alaskan Klee Kai spayed?

Its been a 50/50 split answer between 'before first heat' and 'after first heat'

If I wait for her first heat, the supposed benefits are feature and body maturity. If I spay before, she has a higher chance of not getting cancer later.

Advice? Does time that much of a difference? Getting it done at 4-5 months versus 6-7 months age?

  • Speeding ticket, Wasn't me driving the company car?

    So the story goes:

Move back to CA from NV after 7 months of being there. Tried renewing my CA license when I was notified of a warrant issued recently.

So after calling and being transferred everywhere:

I supposedly have been issued a speeding ticket in the company car in Henderson. But I never was issued a ticket, seen it, signed for it, or was even given a notice. I find out more information that someone signed an for an Attorney that supposably represented me in court.

I'm at a complete loss, I'm having a hard time trying to contact my previous employer about this matter because I was not the only driver of this vehicle and I can't afford to shell out a $900 for an unpaid ticket I didn't not occumulate.

What can I do?? Please help!

  • Whats the stock CARB EO(Executive Order) number for a 280z ('76) header? Is there even one?

I went to get my 280z smogged for the second time and I took it to a different smog shop. They won't smog it because there is no CARB EO number on the Header manifold?

I had didn't have problems getting it smogged the first time. I'm still try to research on the subject, but I read that they started doing the CARB EO numbers back in 1984? Is this true?

If the 280z does have a CARB EO number, anyone know what it is or where I could find out this information?

The car is a Datsun '76 280z California model.
