  • Large sponge filters? Any recommendations?

I'm planning on turning my ten gallon tank into a shrimp tank (not right away, well down the line), but I am starting to do some research to see what kind of filter would be appropriate. I currently have a 10-15 gallon external filter in it, but I'm afraid that when the time comes, the baby shrimp might get caught in it. I've tried various barriers including ones made for shrimp, but they slow the amount of water being taken into the filter and were damaging it.

I have a sponge filter currently in my (heated, filtered) 5 gallon shrimp tank, but I am having difficulty finding a sponge filter which would be more appropriate for a ten gallon. Do any of you have any recommendations for good quality sponge filters which could take that size?

    Thank you so much.
