Scorpio sun, Gemini moon, Libra Rising, I'm confused?
I feel like my placements are opposites! I've been trying for the past few days to understand WHAT this trio means but they all contradict each other. I'm a scorpio so I come off cold yet I'm a libra rising so I come off happy and bubbly? I'm a scorpio so I seem aloof and distant, yet I'm a gemini moon so I'm a social butterfly? That's just two examples! This combo makes no sense to me!! Anyone have an understanding of what someone with this trio might be like?
3 AnswersHoroscopes1 month agoIs applying out of state worth it for a GA resident?
GPA: 3.842 unweighted
SAT (New): 1320 total, 670 reading/writing, 650 math, 31 reading, perfect score on optional essay
SAT (converted to old): 1880 total
Class Rigor: will have 5 APs by graduation (including 2 for art), Gifted and Honors classes entirely, 2 years of French
Extracurriculars: Job, Unpaid Internship at an Advertising agency, Vice President of National Art Honors Society, Treasurer of Student Council, Beta/Key Club (community service), plenty more clubs that I'm not a leader of
I live in Georgia, so I've already applied to University of Georgia. There's not very many other...good, public schools here (Georgia Tech, but I wouldn't get in and am not interested in a technical degree so...). Should I apply to University of Ohio/Michigan/Florida as well? I would only attend an OOS school if I got a comparable scholarship, (considering the fact that I qualify for Zell Miller in Georgia (full tuition), it'd be rare) or if the education was vastly superior.
I am not sure what I want to do but I'm interested in either an artistic degree (illustrative stuff like storyboard art or character design, or graphic design), business degree (marketing), or double major, and a minor in French.
1 AnswerHigher Education (University +)5 years agoCan you help me design a workout plan (confused beginner)?
I've never formally I guess exercised. I did basketball, gymnastics, and dance as a kid, and did marching band for two years which (surprisingly enough) gave me amazing legs, but now I'm about to go to college and figure I ought to learn how to hit the gym (or my house if I can't go). All the stuff I've seen online is like strength for 30 mins, endurance for 20. Do 5 reps of 4 120 dumbbells. I'm completely lost on that so please use "for dummies" terms with me.
Stats
Height: either 5'4 or 5'5, I forgot.
Weight: between 115-120lbs (fluctuates depending on how much I've eaten in the day).
Gender: Female
Resting Heart Rate: 102 (oops.)
Fitness level (1-10, 10 is best): 3. I've moved before but not lately.
Knowledge about exercising: Very little. Assume none and just explain everything. :)
Goals
-Improve flexibility (Get splits back, Fix/ reduce pain of scoliosis),
-Get fit (bring resting heart rate down to like 80?),
-Tone (In an ideal world I'd have a four pack, toned legs, toned booty, and arms that don't look muscular but can do more than 5 pushups...)
Time
-I'd like as little time as possible! Busy girl. Lazy girl.
-I'm thinking 3 times a week for 30-60 minutes but let me know if that's too little.
If you were me, what would you do to work out? I really hope that's enough info. If not just ask me what you need and I'll see what I can give you.
1 AnswerDiet & Fitness5 years agoWhat do you think of an MBA program with no work experience required?
I was going to study undergrad art (maybe double major or major minor in art and marketing). I wanted to after that get my MBA (you don't have to study business undergrad to get a Business Admin. Masters). I've read a lot that you should have 2-5 years experience working business but I've found a couple programs in my area that don't require this experience. What do you think about this (Asking people with MBA's)? Did your work experience help you in the program or could you have gone without it? I'm asking because I kind of just want to get all my schooling out of the way ASAP but if that's not a good idea then I'd be willing to wait.
2 AnswersHigher Education (University +)5 years agoWhat options is most likely to get me into graduate business school?
To get an MBA (master in Business administration) you do not need to study business (marketing or management) undergrad. I've clarified this with multiple schools. So, I'm not sure what I want to do in college but I want to study business (marketing) and art (illustration/drawing). So here are some options I've considered...
1. Go to public school and dual degree in marketing and fine art undergrad. Then for grad school (hopefully at Mercer) go for MBA. Issue with this is that I'll probably be in school for 8 years instead of 6 which I don't want to do.
2. Recommendation from a college admissions councilor. She told me I could undergrad major in fine art and minor in management or marketing and do a business related internship. Then she thinks I can get into grad school to study business with just a minor's worth of experience. Con for this - what if I don't get into grad school? It's just wasted time then.
3. Go to an arts school and study Business of art and Design (at SCAD it's a masters of the arts, at MICA it's a Master of Professional Studies) this way I have art and business experience in one. Then grad school for Business. Con - I don't know how credible this degree is. Also, it's a masters program so that'd be 2 extra years also.
4. make my own undergrad degree as both art and business. Then grad school. Con - How credible are custom degrees?
1 AnswerHigher Education (University +)5 years agoI want to study art in college and need help knowing where to go?
I am interested in Drawing/Illustration. My end goal is to have a business and art degree of some kind (I was thinking B.A and M.B.A) and be able to draw and digitally edit advertisements and commercials for companies. I also wouldn't mind being a storyboard artist, character designer, or concept artist (jobs around animation but not animation itself).
So, part one of this question, how do I know if a public school I'm interested in, say UGA or Old Miss has a good art program?
Part 2, how do I know if an art school is WAY out of my league (be they better or worse)? I know some the top art schools are SAIC, RISD, and CalArts, so those would be a reach for anyone. But other than that I don't know where anything ranks. The obvious answer would seem to be to look at art on their websites, but it seems all art schools post the best of the best work rather than average work, and that they all have a few high ballers. For example, art from SAIC, which is supposed to be the best of the best: http://portfolios.saic.edu/search?field=Drawing , art from SCAD, a local school for me which is supposedly somewhat decent: http://portfolios.scad.edu/search?field=Drawing and art from Art Institutes which is supposed to be really bad: http://tinyurl.com/h8ndqy5 can look like they're from students of similar levels. Help me please because I'm so lost on this.
2 AnswersDrawing & Illustration5 years agoHow do you narrow down a college list?
I have a list of about 20 colleges that I am interested in applying to for early action in the fall. A few years ago I would've applied to 20 colleges and just seen what happened, but now you have to pay for applications and for test scores to be sent. I don't want to cost myself or my family (whoever ends up paying for this) hundreds of dollars when I'm only going to go to one of these schools so how do I narrow down my list?
Note that all of the schools I'm interested in have all the things I want to study (Art, Marketing, and French). They're all near my range for SAT/ GPA, some a bit above and some a bit below. After that I just don't know where to find more information (college websites tend to be stuffed with fluff about "ranked number one in the world by XYZ Source" and "we have internships!" so it's hard to sift through. If they're all number one what difference does it make? And near all colleges have internships. Ect.). I'm not sure on my preference of campus size or location, considering I've never been to college to have anything to compare it to. Help me out?
4 AnswersHigher Education (University +)5 years agoDouble major vs major minor vs etc..?
Can anyone tell me the difference between double majoring, getting a bachelor's and assosiate's degree at once, getting a bachelor's in one thing and a master's in another, and majoring and minoring in two things. I would like to know what they are, how much more time and money they take from the regular college experience, and how benificial they are. I have this dream of opening my own animation studio, so I've always wanted to study animation/illistration/design/game design to become a storyboarder or concept artist or something. Basically not an animator but anything around it. My dad has however recently peaked my intrest in business (leaning more marketing than management but I'm still open minded). I could work in advertising, work only in business (advertizing, helping people pick products and determining what would sell where, etc), become a department head at an animation studio, or open my studio with both degrees. I just don't know how to go about getting them. Any recommendations?

3 AnswersPolls & Surveys5 years agoWould you buy this art?
I am thinking of starting to sell my art. I'm not sure yet how I'd do it. I don't expect to become a millionaire, or make much at all really, but if I am going to try I'd like to try properly. So, here is a link to my instagram where I post my pieces (complete and incomplete. I post nearly everything there so it's not ALL my best work but it basically is. They're all quite big too): https://instagram.com/puddingpocket/
So, hypothetically you have money and are going to buy something from me...
WOULD YOU BUY
1. A comic book or web comic issue by issue made by me. Most likely stylized, most likely colored in water color, most likely with characters who aren't all cis gendered, straight, white people. No idea of cost but less that $20. Most likely less than $10.
2. My art as prints (a sized copy of the art to hang on your wall or put in your wallet or something)? Cost goes up by size, for example 4 inch by 5 inch is say $3 but 20 by 25 inch is $20
3. My art as products (customized holiday cards, mugs, t-shirts, calendars, etc.) Different products cost different things. A card is $10-12, a shirt is $20-40 and a mug is $10-25 depending on the complexity of the design.
Thank you for your answers! Most informative gets top vote!

3 AnswersSmall Business6 years agoSex before marriage - religious and non religious opinions welcome!?
People around me are starting to have sex and I want to decide if I'm going to wait. Here's what I'm thinking, you guys let me know your opinions!
Yes, have sex!
1. My dad had a kid at 16 and my mom was pregnant with my brother before they got married. If they're such honest Christians and they knowingly sinned with no regrets, then what's the harm if I do it?
2. I want to be able to know if I'm compatible with someone intimately BEFORE i get married to and tie myself off to them forever.
3. I will probably want to experiment with my sexual desires.
4. I can have my partners tested and use extra contraception (response to no, don't, #4)
5. Dating would probably be easier if I had sex with people.
6. I can wait to do it with people I'm really committed to to make it emotionally safer!
No, Don't! Save yourself!
1. I don't want my relationships to be all about sex, or to be in a bad relationship but be blinded by the sex.
2. Sex is really taboo. I see myself having sex with the wrong idiot and him telling everyone I smell or gloating about "getting some" or something else stupid.
3. I fear being used by someone for sex and cast aside. If I don't have sex, it's not possible.
4. I don't want to get pregnant or get an STD.
5. If someone really loved me couldn't they wait for me?
6. I might feel guilty if I just had sex knowing it was a sin and I don't want it to be unenjoyable.
3 AnswersSingles & Dating6 years agoIs a BFA useless? Tips on art college? PLEASE HELP ME! NO ONE ELSE WILL!?
I've been searching for help/answers for ages now and I'm feeling like I need to know now, so please, read all of this and help me out to the best of your ability.
I want to become a director or producer of animated films and TV shows. I like to lead people and I love art so it's the perfect job for me. I used to want an animation degree from CalArts but reality finally hit me and I get that I'll never be able to afford that. I'm looking at things in my state, because if I can keep my GPA up I'll be able to get an awesome full-tuition scholarship to any school here, so money won't be a problem. A lot of schools however don't have an "animation" degree. They just have BFA in the arts and it has drawing, painting, design, and "computer arts" classes involved. I think that that is what I'll have to do but my parents are scared of an art degree. They seem to want me to study engineering and are convinced I'll be able to draw/animate with that but I'm almost certain I can't. So I'm asking...
1. Can an engineering degree help me more than a BFA?
2. I keep reading that art degrees don't help and it's mostly about your portfolio, but I'm not much of a self teacher. I learn better under instruction, so my art would probably be better after college. With that being said, degree, yes or no?
3. Is a BFA in arts versatile? Like can I do illustration/animation/storyboarding/etc with it?
4. Is getting into a public school, even if it's in the arts program, more about grades or portfolio?
2 AnswersDrawing & Illustration6 years agoAnal Pain and occasional Bleeding?
I have never had anal sex and I think i tried to masturbate that way once but it didn't get anywhere. Sometimes through the day, I'll roll over, or use the bathrooms, or squat, or do something that just causes a quick, sharp, anal pain. By anal I mean butt hole if that much wasn't clear...
Sometimes, when I poo and wipe, there's just a TINY bit of blood on the toilet paper. None in the toilet. At first I figured I had some kind of tear/cut (that's kind of what it feels like...or what I imagined it feeling like) so I waited for it to heal. It hasn't healed. Does anyone know what this might be? I'm underage and so, if it's some kind of medical problem I have to tell my mom before I can get to a doctor and if it's nothing I'd really rather not.
1 AnswerWomen's Health6 years agoHow do females enjoy straight sex if they don't feel Vaginal stimulation?
I'm 20, and virgin, and a few of my friends have started having sex. Most resources I've read say that it's not possible or very difficult for girls to have a G-spot/Vaginal orgasm...so....how is sex supposed to work for us? I'm lost. I know there's clit and everything, so like, does the girl just not orgasm during sex and have to wait for their partners to finish and then get their turn?
1 AnswerWomen's Health6 years agoWhen apply to public art schools, do you focus on your grades or portfolio?
A public school, such as GA or Mississippi State, that has an art program. Do you want to make sure you have good grades and SAT, or do you want to focus on your portfolio?
I know for a private art school it's portfolio, and at a public school doing something not-art, it's grades.
1 AnswerHigher Education (University +)6 years agoHypercam 2 problems?
I'm trying to record myself playing a game with hypercam. It's doing that thing where the video speeds up and then goes black and the audio plays on to the black. Very common problem. I know I can fix this because before I got rid of Hypercam 2 it worked fine. I've tried the silly solution where you change the checked boxes, but it doesn't fix anything. It's also not dropping frames so it's not that. I think it has something to do with my game lagging. I feel like hypercam wants to record it so the lag doesn't show, or it's recording causes the lag, but I have all other programs closed and the laptop on ice so I can't make the game lag any less. Any ideas, tips or questions?
1 AnswerLaptops & Notebooks6 years agoVideo Graphics card out-of-date problems (dxdiag included)?
I have a VGA standard card, but a NVIDIA chip type. What does that mean? After re installing windows my graphics card suddenly didn't work for the sims 3 anymore when it did before and EA help desk thinks this is why. They say I need to buy a new graphics card, other websites have said I just need to update NVIDIA/VGA but I don't know how, what that means, or if that will work. I don't have a Dxdiag for before I re installed windows but the one I have now will be in the update.

I'm not exactly at the point of getting a child, just weighing my options. I know that I don't want to give birth and I'm aware that adoption/being a foster parent are affordable options, but, I would like to know about surrogacy. I know it costs around 67K if you donate your own egg and sperm to the "birth mother", but, that's about the same cost of giving birth traditionally. When giving birth traditionally insurance covers most the cost leaving parents with about a $500 bill; is this the same for a household looking for a surrogate? What is the average out of pocket cost for a surrogate or how much did it cost for you if you've ever had one?
