  • Are there any good alternative to cement?

I am building a planter with some extra bricks I have around. I honestly have never done brick laying before and I am just trying to avoid the mess with cement. Are there any alternatives for cement

That would be easier to apply? I was suggested silicone but I am afraid it might cost a lot.

  • Buying puppies, please need some advice!?

Hello! I am looking for to buy a malamute puppy. I live in Melbourne and so far I know of two litters available. One is from a well recognized kernel and they are asking AU$1750.00. Including some packages bla bla bla, but not dessexed and requests a contract that establishes that the puppy is dessexed within 6months...... The other one is asking for AU$1000.00 and comes with similar things, including being dessexed and also appears to be a breeder, but maybe not a show breeder like the first one. Both have very professional approaches to who will take on their puppies. Does anyone know if there is any real advantage in having a $1750 over a $1000 puppy?

EDIT: I have always had dogs my whole life but I never bought a puppy, we always adopted them and never really cared about pedigree.

  • Would I have problem if I use different passaports to depart and arrive from flights?

    I have double citizenship Australian/Brazilian.

I am going to get married in China (I live in Melbourne, Australia). I will get the chinese Visa in my Australian Passport. I will leave Australia using my Australian passport, arrive in China showing my Australian passport. Then after the wedding I will leave China to Brazil, stoping in Quatar then to Brazil. I thought of leaving China using my Australian passport and show my Brazilian Passport in Brazil. Then to leave Brazil back to China, I show my Australian passport with the Chinese Visa.

The Australian Passport displays my name in this form:

    "Surname"

    "Name" "Middle-name"

The Brazilian passport displays my name in this form:

    Name Middle-name Surname

  • What bulb wattage should I use in my chandelier?

have purchased and installed a chandelier in my living room that fits 6 light bulbs. The sockets are connected in series. I bought lamps bulbs and after installing I went to test it and the wires inside the lamp go red but are not producing light. Those bulbs were 40W each. I am guessing the lamps are too strong for the energy input. So I dont want to spend much money buying bulbs, not exactly cheap to buy that many bulbs and not use it. Would 25W bulbs work fine? or should I consider something weaker?

I live in Melbourne, Australia. The power here is 240V.

Or should I consider changing the connections from series to parallel?

  • I am looking for a nice beach around melbourne?

Hi, I am from Brazil and I've been here for 6 years. I once went with some friends to a beach down near frankston I think, and it was really good. But I dont remember where it was anymore. Anyway, I am looking for a beach with soft sand, no heaps of shell pieces, and a water where i can walk on ... St Kilda i do not like, it just feels weird. I went to Brighton beach on new year even and got my foot cut on those damn rocks in the water, I could not even walk there because of the rocks on the water and the shells on the sand (plus I saw this gigantic rat running around the grass).

I dont want too many waves, some waves are fine, but no surfer's paradise....

  • Whats the most recommended car insurance for me?

Me and my partner have just purchased a new Nissan Dualis ST 2011. Apart from the paint we have added nothing to it, we will look into better prices for accessories. We live in Melbourne Australia and this is the first time we buy a new car and look for a comprehensive insurance. We are both over 25. Are all car insurances pretty much the same and there is little difference and little money saving or is there a more recommended car insurance for us?

  • Building a pathway around the house, how important is that to protect the slab?

My house is in the final stages of construction. My neighbours advised me to build a concrete pathway around the house to help prevent water from going under the slab and causing pressure. My first idea was to only have grass all around the house, and maybe I would install a drainer to prevent having an accidental swimming pool after rain. This would of course save me a good deal of money. I am looking for opinions of people here in regards to building this pathway, how important would you rate it and why?

  • My dad has recently been diagnosed with partial heart failure?

Apparently his heart's left side is not working anymore. I am feeling horrible specially because I live in Australia and he lives in Brazil and I extremelly rarely see him now... I cannot afford going there, the ticket is really expensive I have only just finished my bachelor. Sorry for all that, not exactly part of the question...

I want to read more about it. I studied biomedical science but I am not sure of the correct term for this condition and I would like to ask if someone knows a website where I can read and understand more about this. I specially want more deep understanding on prognosis. I am afraid of losing my father, in the past 6 years we only managed to see each other in person once... My father smoked for a long time and now he has stopped and he never were much physically active, but also never were much overweight.

  • Can a woman wear shorts for an office job?

Can a woman wear shorts to work in a office kind of job? I personally think shorts are a NO to office environment, but my partner got a job recently and she bought some shorts to work. I don't think it is appropriated, even though the shorts are "formal" and she wears stockings. I need some outside opinion, please?

  • I need some advice in home design, living area?

I am building a home and i have a meals/family area of 6m by 5.3m. I am thinking of designating half (3m) for dinning and the other 3 m for living room, which lives me with a "living room" of 3 by 5.3 meters.

One of the 3m wall of this living area will be window and the opposite wall is for the TV. The BIG problem I have is that if I place the couch just under the window I will need a large TV because it will be damn 5.3 meters far. and honestly leaving a lot of room between the couch and the TV (which even with a centre table would still be quite a lot of room.

The OTHER option is to place the couch halfway between the TV and the wall behind the couch. It would probably be more cosy but the space behind the couch would probably feel quite wasted, and I wouldn't need such a big TV too.

From the living area there is a sliding door at the 5,3m wall at the corner opposite to the TV.

    ____5.3m_____

  • I could not find ANYTHING about this, so please help!! HIGH HEELS!!!!!!?

My gf has a really bad back problem and she insists in wearing high heels SO MUCH. The only occasion that she does not wear a high heel is at home. If she is going out she will 99.99% of the time be wearing some sort of heel. She keeps saying that its ok because it is "comfortable" and apart from situations like... going to kayaking, which was a rare occasion that I still had to convince her to wear runners, she will always be wearing heels outside. Doesn't matter how long we are going to be walking! Other day she could literally NOT move so much her back was in pain. She took an x-ray and the doctor said her back muscles looked like of a 60 y/o woman (she is in her mid 20s). She has this complexity that a girl has to be wearing high heels otherwise she looks so short. I just need ideas on how to convince her to wear more runners and take care of her health.

Even for an afternoon at the park or going to the supermarket she will wear high heels.

I mean no disrespect. I just wonder if anybody knows if he had any wishes to have some humour. Or if he died sad and didn't really follow all the "iJoke"s.
