The sound on my ipod touch does not work any more so im wanting to get an iphone and just use it as an ipod. but will everything work like the wifi and all the other things?

My husbands parents are divorced and have been for about nine years. My father in law cheated on my mother in law thus causing the divorce. Since then my mother in law has had very choice words to say about him.Either way both of them are remarried.

Here is my problem:

My stepfather in law has 2 granddaughters. My mother in law is friends with her husbands ex wife and one of the reasons is for the granddaughters, you know , so there isn't any problems.

My husband and i have a little girl of our on that is about to turn 2.

Why is it that my mother in law can get along with her husbands ex wife for his grandchildren but not do the same for her on?
