how race/culture impacts groups, institutions, and/or societal configurations.

I am new to using Craigslist and PayPal.

I recently posted that I am selling an ipod on Craigslist

and decided I wanted to sell locally, and meet the buyer and exchange.

I have someone who says they are interested in buying

and said they would pay the amount for the iPod + $150 for shipping and handling. Buyer said he's sending it to his son overseas, and would like my PayPal email address to remit the funds. He is offering $400 for the item.

Now...I'm thinking, "Why would he spend $400 on a used iPod Touch, when he minus well buy a new one at the store for the same amount or even less?"

So for Craigslist experienced people: do you think I could trust this buyer? Or do you think it's a scam?

Paypal experienced people: By giving him my email address, will that put me at risk or something? I'm worried about him hacking into my account or something. Is it safe to give him my email?

I have a jailbroken iPod Touch. I recently installed:

dTunes,iMobileCinema, and Safari Plug In. Somewhere in between all of this, I received a new icon called "terminal". I don't know how it got there, why it is there now, and what i'm suppose to use it for.

Please help.

Should I delete it or is it needed?

Ehhhh, I keep hearing and reading about this whole jailbreaking thing, and I'm trying to decide whether or not I want to do it.

For people who HAVE jailbroken their ipod touch 2g:

1. Did you run into any complications?

2. If you were successful and had no problem jailbreaking, what

program did you use and whose instructions did you follow?

I have a brother who has the traits I listed in the headline. He's 32 and I am 21 and we're both opposites in personality. But don't get me wrong, he is not just those things. He is a loves his family and takes cares of them and his friends. If people need help with something they ask him and he does it. He works hard, loves his kids and is a respectful and humble guy. He really cares for me cause I am the youngest sister and out of 11 kids, we're the only two who are full blood related, so I guess that's what draws him closer to me too. But that temper of his just damages our relationship, which is why I can't be open with him and reciprocate that sibling bond. He has a low tolerance for mistakes (which I make plenty of cause I'm a free spirited spirited, shake it off, just go with the flow, not too disciplined kinda gal) and sometimes burdens himself too much by trying to carry other people's burdens, which is why he gets mad when things go wrong when he wants it to go another way. Sometimes he can have power trips too, and he knows that. But recently, some important things have come to my attention and I would like to talk about it with him, but I'm hesitant cause he's intimidating, has a temper, and is sometimes close minded when it comes to other people's thoughts, and I feel like he judges me. He's one of those tough love kinds, and I just need some helpful advice from people who have those types of brothers or even better....are those types of brothers.

I want advice on what would be the best way to approach my brother, in a way where he doesn't get all hostile, but at the same time I'm not bending backwards just to please him and keep him calm. Mutual respect.

My brother and his fiance have been together for a little over 10 years (since I was in 7th grade and now I just finished the end of my senior year in college). They have been engaged for about 4 years and they have two children together. They've been living together for 7 years, it's like they're practically married but haven't gotten hitched yet.

Basically, I'm worried that they may split eventually and I want to help them work out the knots so they can try to save their relationship before it ends. I don't know everything that is going on, but I do know that when they have arguments it's verbally brutal. They don't put hand's on each other (fight), they just yell. My sister in law (that's what I call her) is a free spirited, happy, grateful dead loving hippie (not really hippie now, but shares some or many characteristics). My brother is a hot/cold kinda guy. He's a hardworking, funny, charming person who really cares about his family, and takes care of the people he loves however he can. He can be very humble and respectful to his elders, and non-jerk strangers. But...when you push that button of his...yeah, all hell breaks loose. His anger is like a fire that you can't put it out...you just gotta wait for it die out in its own time. He's quick to anger, and slow to forgive. That's just a little insight and the type of people they are.

A lot of times, my sister in law initiates the peace treaty or tries to accommodate to some of his peeves and what not, but I don't think he really makes the first move to work things out with her. He's kinda like my mom. They believe in what they believe and that's about it...unless you come up with a REALLY logical point that makes sense. That kinda sums up their issue.

I know that the only way for them to solve this is through:

a. open communication and trying to understand each other

b. compromise

c. Both have to want to save the relationship

What are other ways they can save their relationship and put that spark back in their life that they used to have?

**I know this is a situation for them to deal with, but as his sister, I want to help their situation get better. Especially since they have kids together**

How do you help some one like that? Someone who is stuck in this situation and trying to get out? What can you say or do to help them, help themselves?

I always make goals but have such a hard time, and never achieve them.

I want to make this change, I want to be an achiever, but I don't know how to kick the habit of procrastinating and slacking. These are a few of my goals, I thought maybe if I were specific with my goals, I could get various advice and helpful hints from people:

-- Be more intelligent (reading textbooks can get boring many times & im already taking college courses, working towards a degree)

-- Gain Street Smarts

-- Be more organized and using a planner. Using a planner and actually following it.

-Putting priorities first instead of holding them off.

- exercising daily and sticking to a regimen.

Soooooo, I am 21 and I want to become independent as soon as possible. Right now, I am on the road of education. This is my version of the plan to independence:

1. Graduate with B.S. Degree 2010

2. Internship/Job Experience/Supporting side Job

3. Degree related Job + Masters Degree

4. During this time, saving money and putting it towards:

-new car

-home

This is my plan to reach independence. I would like feedback from currently successful and independent persons, as to adjustments I should make that would be help me along. Or extra advice I didn't think of.

I don't mean a leader just a leader for organizations but in social settings, such as, the type of person people want to follow, admire, look up to, influential...like that. What factors do you think this type of person has? For example, some people say confident persons attract following crowds...etc.

I know people do it. They study the night before and still manage to get a good grade on the exam. I just wanna know what techniques are useful in making the information stick/long term memory?

If a guy friend is quick to respond to your friend's texts but not to yours, what does that mean? This guy is already taken too, so i don't think he's trynna get at her. If there wasn't distance before, but now there seems to be distance, like not as forward as usually or with other girls, what could that possibly mean? What would make a guy not like you as a friend?

If you have debt, and pay it all off, will that make your credit better?

I do know you can make it better by paying things on time as well.

But what are other tips to making better credit.

It's gonna be my 21st Birthday tomorrow and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to what I could do to celebrate it. I won't be able to go to a club til the end of this week cause my college mates and I are just pounded with work, our finals is next week. The possibilities I have considered so far are:

1. Clubbing

2. Drinking of course

3. Eat

Any ideas as to how I can mix these combinations up in different ways or anything? what did you do?

I figured out that I have these little infatuations with many guys I come across, and there are a few who I keep my my mind on longer than I should. How would you determine whether this person you admire is really worth you time and effort, or if they are just another piece of eye candy? Please don't give me answers pertaining to "a feeling" you get, because I assure you, those feelings of mine aren't too reliable. Thank You!

When I mention interest, I'm thinking more of conversation or interaction (like hanging out with a group of mutual friends)...what kinds of topics or pointers keep your attention? Give me topics, or anything, but leave out physical attraction because that is the obvious.

Now, I'm not asking how girls can be tomboys. I'm asking you to share characteristics you see that you like about those few girl friends of yours, that makes them fun to be around, and you comfortable. I'm only asking this question because I have that kind of relationship with my guy friends I grew up with, but it's not the same with some of the new guy friends I make, and I was just curious about the differences.

So yeah, what qualities or habits make girls seem like (or be like) one of the guys?

I was wondering if people could list suggestions of crazy fun and random things to do, or you may have done in the past that left some great memories. When I don't add anything to my hair, it begins to frizz up. I am cautious about using hair products like gels and mousse daily because I don't want to break out from the heat and sweat, which would cause the products to make my face oily.I also feel like my hair is coarse, and was wondering if it was even possible to make it soft witht eh use of some product or technique? and last of all, how can we make our hair shiny without use of accessories? I heard eating sea weed & rinsing hair in cold water makes it shine, anything else?

I have thick, curly, coarse hair. I try to come up with different styles to fix my hair, but I feel like it is limited. I usually where my hair up in a bun, or down, since it is curly. The speed bump doesn't look good on my head, and neither do corn rows. I usually part my hair, but I want to change it up. Straightening is an option, but then again, it damages the hair (no matter what iron is used) and also, styling my hair afterwards is difficult because curls won't stay in long, and hair begins to frizz...what a disaster aye?

SO can someone please help me think of hair styles possible for my hair type. Also, does anyone know what technique I can use for curling my hair? I have curly hair already, but sometimes I'd like to do nice barrell curls, except, I don't know how it's possible to do them right! Help por favor
