  • If I gave my landlord 45 days notice, as per the lease, can they decide several days later to give me notice?

    Hi, thanks in advance.

I am embroiled in a final feud with my landlord.

I gave the landlord 45 days notice (which is the agreement in the lease) via email. We are month to month at this point.

The landlord responded to the email, and advertised the place for rent. They aknowledged the notice in multiple ways, and have been scheduling appointments for prospective tenants. Four days after receiving our emailed termination letter, and responding to it, the landlord sends their own termination letter via email, giving us a different deadline to move out, which is the end of that particular month.

So they are trying to do this to make it more convenient for themselves and the next tenants.

I'm wondering if they have any grounds to do this, based on some technicaliity.

    Thanks.
