Cracking/popping sound from front left wheel area. Happens only when shifting from park/reverse/drive.

At firstwas thinking cv, but it doesn't occur while moving or turning. So I can eliminate the strut and cv.

When I grab the wheel and try to shake it back and forth, it doesn't move, It's stiff and not lose.

Anyone know?

So, i want to build a gaming computer to hook up to my 47"1080P HDTV (Vizio)

I don't play a lot, but when i do i would like to be able to max out settings. i also want to run vista.

and sometimes skyrim.

i own a 1998 Plymouth Neon 2.0 DOHC.

this vehicle has seen it all. 163,XXX miles.

i have spent ~4,000-5,000 in this car to keep it running. i wont even begin mentioning everything, i'l just say everything is new but the engine BLOCK and TRANNY. (torque converter is stock too)

in June of 2012, i purchased a new vehicle as my summer driver.

the Neon sat for about a month or two before i drove it again. So of-course the battery needed a good charging before it would start. i can tell the battery is weak from sitting and understand i need a new one. but this of-course, is not my issue..

I took the car for a drive last month, and it drove fine. no problems. its up to date on all maintenance, including oil change at 163,000 miles flat. after a few weeks of driving it 3-4 times a week, i noticed, the transmission is acting very strange. here's what's up.

-i start the neon

-drive down the road, notice the gas peddle seems to stick about halfway. i give it a little force and it's no longer sticking. the gas pedal is smooth after that.

-at a stand still (first gear) engine idles smoothly. now, normally when i hit ~20-30 mph, the car would smoothly shift at 2,000-2,500rpm.

-the car now doesn't shift out of first gear, to second gear until the engine rev's up to 4-5grand. and by then im doing 25-35mph.

the transmission fluid is 3/4, so i know its low. i plan on adding more to make it full. but if that is not the issue, what else could be the problem?

any suggestions?

I've been to Hibachi restaurants and had their clear soup. I cannot, for the life of me, find the recipe for this soup! i remember it being sooo simple but having an EXPLOSION of flavors!!!!

i only remember it having a mushroom slice or two, and some green vegetable thing. when i try to Google it i find a ton of complicated ingredients in one soup. not the one I'm looking for =/

I currently own a 1996 Suzuki Katana GXSr600

the bike feels a bit to big, heavy, and powerful for me.

i am 5'9'' and weigh ~130-145lbs

what smaller Sport-bikes do you think would better suit my needs?

-needs to go at-least 75mph

-weigh less then my ~600lbs bike (im thinking around 300-400)

-needs to get over 50mpg

-inexpensive (my budget is around <5grand)

-able to carry a passenger and still have good fuel economy and power

-smaller then the 600 i have now.

My Girlfriend really wants to become a teacher. she is out of high school and is looking into some colleges. Unfortunately, we really don't know how to get her started in this path.

Whenever a customer turns the steering wheel they hear a creaking noise from the front of the vehicle and the steering wheel wont return to the center on its own. What is the most logical cause?

cars today use steering mounted on either the left, or right side, depending on country.

but how would you build a car with a center mounted steering wheel.

generally, the steering wheel, mounts to the steering shaft. the steering shaft leads to the pinion to the control arm, onto the rack. but

modern cars are using a Float, with a variable resistor to detect fuel level.

but what if we used a scale instead. and converted weight, into volume.

floats are nice but vehicle speed and motion change the level and the float instantly. so you never know the exact amount.

with a scale, you would always know the EXACT amount of fuel in the tank. with vehicle motion coming into play, make the center of gravity sit on a scale, or if needed, use multiple scales to gain an average around the tank while in motion.

we could use a computer to link to the dash to indicate the exact amount of gallons in the tank. which would also help people monitor their fuel economy better, encouraging them to drive more economical.

calculating the fuel tank sized, with the gas left in the tank, you can determine the exact fuel used. synchronized with the trip upon fill up, you will be able to easily and accurately determine gas mileage.

anyone agree or see reasons this wouldn't work?

I am about to graduate from technical school. call me a procrastinator if you must, but i have still not yet looked into any scholarships to help me with my school tuition. My schooling has been paid with student loans and i have 2 weeks left, so to me, there doesn't seem to be another method of payment.

but what if i look into some scholarships now?, can i use those to pay off my student loans?

I wake up at 6am, 5 days a week for school. I get out of school at 1pm, drive 40 minutes home, change for work, then leave at 1:50pm. I get to work at 2:10, clock in and work from then, until 1am. I eat only once a day (7:30pm lunch work break) I have saturday and sundays free and sleep about 10 hours on weekends.

Is this healthy? Can I continue to live this way? I only have a couple months of school left. Then I plan on getting another job on top of this one.

Im in my 20's

my girlfriend has been having nightmares for the past few years. they seem to becoming more frequent and more real to her.

Normally, her dreams consist of watching everyone around her being killed, or hurt very badly.

she seems to always be the one to stay alive, the one who has to suffer seeing all this happen in front of her. sometimes, she wakes up in the mornings and thinks it all really happened. and i have to try my best to convince her that nothing like that happened.

last week, we woke up and she told me that in the middle of the night, she had awaken and she said that i had woken her up. she said i told her to be quiet and to listen. she said she had heard footsteps coming down the stairs, open the door, and come in the room. she had said she saw a man standing there watching us sleep. the man proceeded to walk out of the room, close the door behind him, and walk back up the stairs.

i had told her that i never woke her up, and i never heard anyone walking down the stairs. and her door was still locked. its not a key lock so it can only be locked and unlocked from the inside. so it wouldn't be possible for someone to open that door. and we always double check to make sure the door is locked before we go to bed.

we still haven't agreed on whether that really happened or not. i still think she was dreaming. she still thinks it really happened.

Two nights ago, we were laying in bed, and i had checked my phone to see what time it was, the time was 2:08am. we went to sleep not too much longer after that (around 3am or 4am) i had to wake up early for college at 5:20am, and did so. later today she had told me that i had checked my phone once more throughout the night, and when the light from it shined on the ceiling, she had seen snakes, on her ceiling. the ceiling was apparently covered in snakes to her. she said, she had told me to look at the ceiling and see all the snakes because she was scared. she told me she held my arm tight and told me that i told her i didn't see anything. she proceeded to tell me she jumped out of bed to turn on the free standing light to prove to me there were snakes there. but she couldn't find the light. so she looked back up at the ceiling, and the snakes were gone. she said after that she crawled back into bed, and i held onto her as we fell asleep.

now, i have absolutely NO recollection of this event what-so-ever. and i'm pretty sure, if my girlfriend was seeing things in the night, and woke me up, i would remember. i'm a very light sleeper. i generally get about 3-4hours of sleep at night because of full-time schooling, and job right after.

i told her, i never checked my phone twice to check the time, only once, at 2:08am. and that she had never gotten out of bed in the hour or two that i had slept. and she never said anything about snakes being on the ceiling until tonight.

i know she isn't going crazy, so please, keep your rude and inconsiderate comments to yourselves. so if you have nothing nice to say, don't say it at all and avoid making yourself look like a fool.

i have taken some psychology in my day, and i have been going over my notes on sleep disorders, but i cant pinpoint where all this is coming from. she always has bad dreams, even when i'm there with her. and sometimes, she thinks they are really happening. they are so real to her, it scares me.

any ideas on whats going on?

some more information on her sleep patterns. when i'm not with her, she usually goes to bed around midnight to 2am, and sleep until about 1pm. so she is sometimes getting more then 12 hours of sleep a night. when i am with her throughout the night, weekdays we usually sleep around 3am, weekends we might not sleep until 6am. on those weekdays she will sleep until anywhere from 10:30am-1pm and on those weekends, we usually get up around noon.

we watch movies before we go to bed, of all types, but we haven't watched a scary movie in a while. the night she dreamed of snakes, we watched the movie "Limitless"

Back in April, i had a friend who ran into a bit of trouble. He was driving his car un-insured, un-inspected, and un-registered.

His car was impounded and he had to pay 3 fines. it all came out to about 1,000 to get everything settled and have his car legalized and back in his possession.

i lent him 706.00 to help get this done. (yes, sometimes I'm too nice)

unfortunately, its now July 21, and i have yet to see a dime of my money.

I put trust into him that he would pay me back, so i didn't get all the receipts (dumb move on my part)

I need to take him to a small claims court to insure i get my money back that he owes me. i have given him plenty of time to pay me back, and remind him constantly about this. tomorrow i plan on having him sign a paper that states he owes me said amount of money, when it was lent to him, and that he will pay me back.

I have so far only located receipts totaling ~100.00. i am currently searching for the others.

is a paper with his signature, a couple receipts and my bank statements proof enough for the courts?

also, if it is, and they tell him he HAS to pay me back within a certain amount of time, what are the consequences for him if he doesn't pay back the amount within that time frame? this happened in the state of PA, i live in Ohio.

my 98 dodge neon dash and tail lights are out.

there is no relay for taillights.

all the fuses are good.

the bulbs work because both the tail-light and the brake light use the same bulb, and the brake lights work

the hazards work

the turning signals work

and the headlights work.

i am at a loss......

please help. i drive at night a lot but it is illegal to drive at night without tail-lights. and i cant keep using my hazards...

i want to take a trip that is 1,176 miles away.

my car gets 48 miles to the gallon(mpg's) (highway average)

if i average out the gas costs to 4.00/gallon (rounding up)

my gas tank holds 10 gallons but i plan on filling up every 8 gallons, every 384 miles.

how much will i spend on gas, for a one way trip of 1,176 miles, while getting 48mpg?

IDK if what i have is right..

1176m / 48mpg = 24.33gallons

24.33 gallons X $4.00 = $97.32

so if im correct, it could only potentially cost me $97.32 to make a trip of 1,176 miles with 48mpg's. is that correct??
