  • 2003 Grand AM electrical issue?

Here is whats happening I can have the key in my hand and I'd have all the dash cluster lights on and the radio going with the ignition in the off position and the key out of it. Before I'd spend the money on parts I'd like to get some opinions on what it may be I have it down to either the ignition switch or BCM. Yes the car was recalled for the ignition but the fix from GM was to put an insert on the key to prevent having too much weight on the key which was never an issue with me all I have on my ring is 2 other keys (house key and a padlock key) the ignition was never changed from the recall because it didn't call for a change for the fix. when this first started happening I was thinking BCM because sometimes my trunk would randomly pop open when it was sitting in the driveway or in the parking lot at work. I was just disconnecting the battery between drives just to get by until I could buy a new BCM but now when I connect the battery to start the car back up sometimes it will crank and start just fine other times it won't crank at all and I still have all the dash cluster lights on as if my ignition is in the on position so what is your opinions BCM? Ignition? Both? something else that I should look at also?
