Is taking trash metal, cans etc out of the river, low islands that get overwashed and along the banks to the high water line legal? I've seen alot of scrap metal around-don't want to inadvertently do something illegal. I figure its peoples trash, but idk. Also a railroad track runs along parts of the river and there are railroad parts in the river-is it legal to take this stuff? The river in question is the james in virginia. Thanks.

Anyone else considering moving to an off the road portion of remote alaska and taking up homesteading? Alaska is in my opinion definitely the best place to homestead due to abundance of wild game, remoteness, abundant clean water sources, fairly cheap land, timber, other people doing the same type of thing even though not alot, etc. I'd love to chat about your ideas and plans.

The idea is take an old 50 ft sailing yatch-gut it and install a 2 rack high(or more) growing system-powered by on deck/tow behind deployable panels/ with an electric outboard and large battery pack setup. Would it be feasible for one small adult to subsist off that sized growery supplimented with fish/perhaps eggs. The main crop would have to be spuds-the idea being having most plants at close to full maturation and removing the larger 'baby spuds'-letting the plant continue to grow and produce for long periods.

Where can i find info about doing commercial fishing? If I bought a small seaworthy fishing boat/bought the required permits and equipment and studied up on the methods could me and mabe a buddy of mine make money every day catching lobster or w/e else. Is it hard to find buyers for what you catch if you're a small outfit? I'm going to read up on it. Thanks for any advice.

I'm considering selling my car/using savings to buy a property that is already rented or to rent in order to secure some extra monthly income(full time student).

What are all the risk factors I'm up against here besides not being able to find a new tenant when the current lease runs out.

Is it really necessary to set up a legal business entity with a bank account to protect your personal assets in case the renter decides to sue you?

Id really appreciate any other input from those with landlord experience.

How far out of town are the lake padden trails? Within riding distance?

What are some towns in the west(not california) that have great(alot of mileage) mountain biking trails, whose trailhead is within riding distance of alot of the homes.

Also where theres a good number of places with entry level positions to work and either a busline or ability to walk there.

And where the price of a small piece of land or a doublewide arent skyhigh.

Also with a mountain biking culture.

Also what are some non-residential areas with land for sale that have plenty of water, game, and a fair growing season and ideally adjacent to public land that allows hunting and fishing.

Is there a cheap way to protect the idea from being copied that isn't a patent.

Once the initial crop of products was made I have the skills to set up a website to market and sell.
