  • Do you feed Sojos? If so, what do you use as mix ins?

Also, do you prepare every four days or do you prepare the entire bag and freeze portions. I am beginning to slowly transition to raw, full transition depends on my dogs reaction, and just bought a bag of Sojos. I prepared enough for four days, mixed in a can of Wellness 95% chicken and add it to Wellness Core Kibble when serving.

  • What do you feed as a topper to your dog's kibble?

I just want to hear what others are feeding their dogs. I feed Wellness Core dry kibble with either one of the Wellness grain free stews or Wellness 95%. My little guy will eat the kibble with or without the topper but most of the time I give him a topper. What toppers, if any do you feed your dog(s)?

  • Paw pad injury...Is there something else I should be doing?

I'm not sure if my dog injured his paw at daycare or during our evening walk on Friday. At any rate I noticed it yesterday, I cleaned the cut with peroxide, rinsed his paw with warm water to release/clear any debris, cleaned with peroxide again, squeezed ointment on the cut and wrapped it up with a flexible bandage. I repeated the process this morning. Is there anything else I should do to promote healing. I know it needs oxygen and will take the bandage off once I've had a chance to steam clean my floors.

  • Just came back from the vet, dog was prescribed Cerenia and famotidine?

My dog woke up with a very upset stomach this morning and this medicine is suppose to settle his stomach. I would like to know if anyone else's dog has been prescribed these meds and if there were any side effects? Vet says there won't be any side effects but I want to hear experiences from other dog owners. Thanks and Merry Christmas!

  • Dog fell, hit head, a little disoriented, I called vet, I am trying not to freak out!?

I was holding my dog, trying to get into his treat bag so we could play before bed time, he started squirming and fell out of my arm. I'm really tall so he fell a long way, he immediately got up and ran to his kennel. When I ran after him to check on him he was really disoriented and shaking. The shaking is understandable as I'm sure he was terrified by what had happened but it seemed like he couldn't use his front legs. I scooped him up to calm him and check to see if his legs were broken. Fortunately his muscles were just really tight after a minute of massaging his legs he loosened up and I could bend his legs as usual. I held him and talked to him until he stopped shaking. He laid in my lap for a while then jumped down and begin to play as usual and seems to have returned to his normal happy self.

I called the vet and was told to watch him for 2 hours to see if the disorientation comes back, if he vomits, and to not let him go to sleep. Has anyone else had to watch their dog after a fall? Is there anything else I should watch for?

  • What was your experience switching your dog's food from Natural Balance to Wellness CORE?

I have been mulling over switching my dogs food from Natural Balance to Wellness CORE for a little while now. I received a sample bag from Wellness the other day and have been using the kibble as a dog treat. My dog seems to really like the kibble. I know to switch his food very slowly and will probably make this a two week process since I feed kibble and wet food to my dog.

I would like to know your experience with switching your dog's food from Natural Balance to Wellness Core. Was there a change in your dog's stool? Did your dog get sick and have diarrhea? What other changes did you notice in your dog? Does your dog still eat Wellness CORE or have you switched back to Natural Balance?

  • What's the best Kong toy and how do you get your dog to play with it?

I just bought my dog one of the Kong air dog tennis fetch toys (it's shaped like a bowling pin) and a Kong Genius treat release puzzle toy. My dog has no problem playing with the squeaky tennis toy however all he does is lick and push the puzzle toy because he can smell the treats inside. He picks up the treat release toy to place it on his pillow or take it to his kennel but he hasn't figured out he needs to shake it for the treats to fall out. I've even grabbed the toy and shook it so he could see what he should be doing, nothing is working. Is there something else I should be doing to get him to play with this toy?

  • Dog food...Where do you purchase yours?

I purchase my dogs food from doogiefood.com, pet valu, or petco. I prefer ordering it online as it's one less errand I have to run and I like the convenience of having someone else lug the 12.5 lb bag of food, numerous dog food rolls, treats, and wet food for me. Has anyone else had a great experience with ordering their dogs food? Is there a store that has a set shipping rate?
