  • Fiance is very depressed without Marijuana don't know what to do? PLEASE HELP!?

My fiance has been a chronic marijuana smoker for 12+ years and he grew up his whole life with his parents smoking. He mom actually allowed him to smoke and gave it to him because she said it made him a happier person! But he had a pretty hard childhood. His parents were both pot smokers, alcoholics, and his mom a coke head. Plus they lived in the hood, his mom left him all the time to go get high while his drunk dad babysat and told him how terrible his mom was and exactly what she was doing.

We've been together almost 10 years I didn't have a huge problem with him smoking until we had our baby a year ago. He had to quit because his company was going to lay him off and he got an offer from a different company. He quit for 40+ days and his urine still wasn't clean. He almost lost his job when we had a 4 month old baby because he couldn't produce a clean urine. It scared me to my core. During that time he did quit I realized how consumed his life was with weed. He worked all day, while I was home with the baby, and then when he got home he would be outside smoking several times a night and all day every weekend. Plus he would go to his mom's house or a friends house after work sometimes to smoke. I started feeling like a single mom. Then I started thinking about him driving the baby around while high, having drug paraphernalia our home, and what would happen is someone in our apartment complex saw him or smelled while he was outside smoking and called the police. I told him I couldn't live like that anymore and I needed him to stop in order for me and our baby to continue to live with him. It is not legal in our state and on top on all the other legal aspects of smoking it's terrible for a child to have to grow up with an addict. I can't tell you how many times I thought to myself "he doesn't have any weed today so it's gonna be a shitty day". He says that it's his medicine and that he needs it to function and I do understand that it does have medical benefits but he has a true addiction.

Anyways now after he has been clean for 7 months he's severely depressed. He says that he hates his life and sometimes doesn't want to live anymore. He's been to the doctor and they put him on anti-depressants and a bunch of other meds, he tried them for months and hated them. We have no more money to spend on doctors visits because we don't have good insurance. We already have bills from the several visits he did go to. I feel guilty because he's miserable and I don't know what to do. I don't want him to feel like he has no reason to live because he can't smoke pot. And what if it gets so depressed he actually does try, or succeed at taking his own life? It would be my fault because I told him I was leaving if he continued to smoke. I either have to put my daughter's physical and emotional well being at risk for his addiction or live with a depressed person who is only that way because of me. Plus on top of the guilt I feel I have his mom in my ear who's 55 years old, smokes pot all day, and works at a pizza joint that I'm wrong for giving him an "ultimatum".

  • How much meat to buy for a BBQ?

I am having a BBQ for my daughter's birthday and am expecting about 30-40 people. I want to serve hot dogs, cheeseburgers, and chicken skewers. No veggies on the skewers, just 4-5 chucks of chicken per stick. How many of each entrée should I serve and how many pounds of chicken do I need for the skewers? I feel like most people are going to want chicken and few will want hot dogs but I want to make sure I don't run out of anything. Thanks for any help!

  • Could I keep jalapeno pinwheels warm in a crockpot?

I want to make these for a labor day bbq.

    http://myhomemdelife.blogspot.com/2011/01/companys...

If I baked them the day before, put them in the fridge overnight, then put them in a crock pot on warm would they be ok all day? I don't want them to burn or get soggy. Any tips on how to keep them out and warm or any crock pot appetizers besides lil smokies, meatballs, and dip (already making these) would be great! Thanks!

  • Do you think buffets at weddings are tacky?

I am helping a friend plan her wedding and she has decided that she wants Italian food. To save money she wants to do a buffet but is scared that food will be cold or the pasta will get mushy. Plus she thinks it's kinda tacky to have a buffet at a wedding and "classless". She has looked at several plate options and decided they are too expensive what the portion you get and her family likes to eat. The last thing she wants is hungry guests because again horderves are going to add to the budget. What do you think? She is dead set on Italian food. But doesn't really know what the best option really is. Any other suggestions would be great!

  • When to lower crib mattress?

My daughter is 8 months old now and I have lowered her crib mattress once so it's in the middle position. She can stand up and crawl but I feel like if I lower her crib again I won't be able to reach her unless she's standing up and it worries me that I'll need to get her out in case of an emergency and won't be able to reach her. I'm very short (5 ft) and I have problems as it is getting her pacifier out of the back corner. The rail comes to right about her arm pit when she stands up. Her crib is in my room so it's not like she is in it for a long time by herself. I'm always sleeping right next to her if she's in it. I want to do what is best and safest for my baby just not sure what that is exactly. What should I do?

  • Anyone own a Galaxy Tab 2?

I just purchased a Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 Wifi from Amazon and I have a question about weather it's working right. At night when I'm using it in bed anf it's dark or even dim the screen flickers. It get dim and bright very quickly like it can't nake up it's mind and it makes it hard to read sometimes. It only stops if I turn the auto brightness off and I'd really like to be able to use that function. I've tried everything to get it to stop.

  • Need HELP with homemade baby food please!!?

I've been making my daughters baby food for about a month now. I have been steaming the fruits and veggies in a pot and silicone steamer. The problem I'm having is that the food seems to take 20 sometimes even 30 mins to be fork tender, but everywhere I read it says that I should only need to steam things 4-6 mins. Am I doing something wrong? I don't want to be over cooking my daughter's food and her not be getting the vitamins she needs but if I only steamed any of her fruits or veggies for 5 mins they are still rock hard and I don't think they would even puree correctly. I cook all of them just until I can stick a fork easily all the threw it, similar to as if it were to come from a can. Please help!

  • How much should I tip?

I'm exchanging a memory foam mattress (weighs 200+ lbs) for a traditional mattress so the delivery men have to take the old one out and put the new one in. The men have to go up about 20 steps or so to get it in my apartment. I only have two $20 bills. Should I tip them $20 or $10 each? I don't know what protocol is for this kinda thing. What would you do?

  • Can I get a pedicure if I have eczema?

I want to get a pedicure for the first time in my life. I've never been able to because I have severe eczema but right now if the best it's ever been. All of the scabs are healed up and are just raised scars ecpect I have one except I have one on up upper calf and it's almost healed. It looks more like psoriasis patches that are healed but just a pink circles. Eczema isn't contagious but I just don't want to be embarrassed when they say they can't do it cause of that.

  • Why do you have to put a quarter in the shopping carts at Aldi?

I just have always found this so odd. If someone really wanted to take a shopping cart I don't think a quarter is gonna stop them. And also, why do people always try and get you to give them a quarter and them give you their cart? It's just all so strange to me.

  • Am I being too over protective?

One of my favorite restaurants is a very small Chinese place in a little town I grew up in that still allows smoking. It seats maybe 60 people. I was asked if I would like to go there for dinner by my parents for my birthday but I declined because I have a 4 month old and I do not want her around smoke. I have asthma and I'm trying to do everything I can to prevent or even prolong her developing it. My mom started in on me for being too over bearing but I can't help not wanting me, my baby, and all our belongings smell like cigarette smoke. My mother has smoked around me my whole life despite my severe asthma but i do not allow her or anyone else smoke in the same house as my daughter.. Am I being too over protective or should I stick to my guns?

  • Auto insurance and policy holder question? please help!?

A friend on mine just financed his first car. Before he bought it he drove his mom's car most of the time, it was her car and her insurance policy. So this is the first time he will have to get insurance, but his mom said that she can put his car on her policy and it will be cheaper and he can just pay her every month. They don't live together and I told him I don't think she can insure a car that isn't hers. Her name isn't anywhere on the loan or title either because he wouldn't have been able to get a loan with her name on it because her credit is terrible. Does he have to buy his own insurance policy or can she add him to her policy?

  • What is the difference between a prior salvage title and a regular salvaged title?

I live in Missouri and am looking at buying a car with a prior salvage title. It was a theft recovery so it has no damage but I was just wondering why it says PRIOR before salvage. Also is there a difference between water damage salvage vs flood damage salvage? I'm going to a salvage lot tomorrow to look for a car and just wanted to know.

  • Anyone have a baby with allergies/eczema? Need advice on introducing solids?

My daughter is 4 months old today and I've been noticing that she is very interested in watching me eat, and doesn't take her eyes off me for a second. It's to the point where I don't do it in front of her cause I feel bad that she can't have anything. I am going to the doctor's office soon and am going to talk with him about everything but I wanted to see if any of you knew what the recommendations are now about introducing solids and cereal?

Just weeks after I was born I developed eczema and spent time in the hospital several times for how severe it was and is still now. I got asthma when I was two and allergy test that showed I was allergic to basically everything outside plus all nuts and seafood. When I got pregnant I for some odd reason developed something called oral allergy syndrome which means all fruits and veggies that I eat have to be cooked very well because I'm allergic to the pollen in the plant.

My daughter did have one severe outbreak of eczema when she was around 5 weeks old but I quickly got it under control and it has been since. But I am worried about introducing any big allergens like milk, wheat, soy, nuts, ETC. She is on hypoallergenic formula and has been since about 5 weeks when her eczema got bad and the doctor switched her.

What did your doctor recommend? Any advice would be much appreciated.

  • Any tips on how to make baby food as quick and easy as possible?

I boght a baby bullet for Christmas and a recipe book but I'm looking for easy quick ways to cook the food, store it, and travel. I want to keep bpa out of everything but other then that I'm open to any ideas. I mainly am looking for one thing I can buy to cook all the food in and one other product to freeze small portions of food in but I'd like to make big batches so I need more then just 6 slots. I'd like two or three dozen at an adorable price. Thanks for any help!

  • Store Bought vs Home Made Baby Food. Need Help Choosing Please!?

With all the new kinds of baby food in stores (not just gerber anymore) and making your own becoming more easy then ever thanks to products like the baby bullet, I just don't know what would work best for my family. WE ARE ON A BUGET but my babies health is a priority.

The things I'm worried about with making my own are 1) My baby getting enough variety and the correct nutrients in her diet 2) It seems messy, time consuming, and takes up lots of room in freezer (mine is small) 3) Its not convient to travel with.

Now with my concerns of buying baby food 1) You don't have any idea about the quality of food 2) Chemicals in the packaging or food it's self 3) I don't want to have anxiety every time I hear about something being recalled and wondering if my child consumed it.

I have also considered organic and if maybe buying organic baby food in stores would be just as healthy as fresh and still have the convience I'm looking for.

I'm a first time mom and I just want to make sure I make the right choice. I'd like to know what products do you use to make and store your own baby food at home or what brand do you buy in stores and why you prefer them? Thanks for any help!

  • Grandma refuses to keep smoke away from baby. What should I do?

I have a 10 week old baby girl that I haven't really taken out to grandma's house yet because they both smoke. My mom agree to keep all smoking outside so we have gone over there once but his mom says she doesn't know if she can keep her home smoke free while we come visit. Her home has 2 pack a day cigarette smokers, two 1/2 pk a day smokers and 5 chronic marijuana smokers. She said she would keep the smoking down stairs but I feel like it doesn't do much good when the door to down stairs is in the middle of the living room, smoke raises, and there are 5 people going in and out forgetting to shut the door half the time. My daughter already has eczema and acid reflux. Everything that she touches has to be hypoallergenic including her formula. I myself have severe eczema and asthma as well. But, her father is making me feel like crap day after day about me not letting her go over there and telling me that I'm being selfish and isolating her from her family. I just feel like if they can't air there house out and not smoke for an hour while we come visit that they are the ones being selfish. I have never told them them once that they couldn't come over to my house or meet somewhere but that's not good enough. I grew up in a smoking home and listening to doctors lecture my family about how their smoking was hurting me and I swore that I would never let that happen to my children. What should I do?
