  • Any Lawyers out there...? Baby last name question?

If someone is married and the girl gets pregnant and then they decide to divorce (or she serves him papers) can she just give the baby whatever last name she wants? He wants to be a part of this childs life and is asking for joint custody at the hearing. She plans on giving the baby her maiden name as a last name, as well as picking out the first and middle name. Can his lawyer bring this up in court? He's not disputing the divorce, but they were split before she told anyone she was pregnant.

  • Does Canon have a lens with an Aperture of f8 anymore?

I just purchased the Canon Rebel Xsi and the standard lens came with it. I've been looking on the Canon website and can't seem to find one that has an aperture of f8. Did f5.6 just replace it, or am I just not seeing it?

  • Umbilical Granuloma?

My 3 week old had an umbilical granuloma on his first hospital visit. His cord fell off, but it was bleeding a little. The Doc cauterized it, but now he was a little ring around his belly button. It's greyish, and at first I thought it was a bruise, but it doesn't really look like one and it doesn't hurt him. It gets smaller every couple of days. Should I be really concerned, no one I've asked seems to be. He has his one month visit next week and I will ask about it then, but has anyone else had this with their baby?

  • TTC and Soy?

I heard about this diet that utilizes a lot of soy. My hubby and I are ttc but have scaled back because we don't want to stress out about it. It's probably not a big deal because if I do get pregnant than I can just stop, but I want to make sure that there won't be any problems in early pregnancy if I don't know right away. Is soy a good option? Has anyone heard anything about it?

  • For Teens who want to get pregnant?

Okay, so I've noticed an abundance of teens who want to get pregnant. I think it's very important that we try to let today's youth know why they should just be young and enjoy it. Please share your experiences so maybe we can help adjust their thoughts into living life and making good choices for themselves

My mom was 16 when she had me (my dad was 19) they got pregnant when she was 15 and then got married. She had my sister at 17 and my brother at 19. My mom had to go to a secondary school to graduate, and my dad had to join the Navy to pay for us. We always got just what we needed growing up. We had food, cheap clothes, and government housing over our heads. My mom couldn't go to college like she wanted to until I was 9 years old and old enough to help watch my brother and sister. We lived like that until I left, and my sister left and finally my brother. Now that there are no kids in the house, my parents can finally do what they want to...at 39 and 42. What a life, huh

  • FYI Everyone!!!!!Animal Study: Stress Might Induce Human Infertility?

In African naked mole-rat colonies, the queen is the only reproducing female—a feat she accomplishes by bullying around her fellow blind, tunnel-digging companions.

The candy-bar-sized rat’s behavior could reveal how stress cripples human fertility.Faulkes explained that the stressful domination reduces fertility hormone levels—effectively suppressing puberty in young mole-rats, lowering sperm counts in males and even turning off the female ovulatory cycle . “The queen also seems to exert control over the breeding males, so that concentrations of their testosterone are suppressed except when she is ready to mate. the applications to understanding human stress-related infertility aren't so far fetched.” Faulkes thinks stress and fertility areas of the brain are closely related in most mammals, so careful comparisons of mole-rats to humans could reveal how genes, environment, up-bringing and culture contribute to human infertility.
