    barking (B) dominant over non-barking (b)

    A dog homozygous for erect ears and for barking was crossed with a droopy eared dog that cannot bark. Work out the genotypes and phenotypes for the F1 generation.

    Okay i would really like to know what the genotypes would be because this is what i think, but i'm not sure

    The problem is

    8x+2y-z=-25

    3x-3y+5z=10

    -5x+6y-2z=17

    I can't get a good answer, it always turns out into a decimal for one of the variables, and i think that's wrong, can someone help me out here?

    ok so i had

    3*(8x+2y-z=-25)

    2*(3x-3y+5z=10)

    then i turned that into

    24x+6y-3z=-75

    6x-6y+10z=20

    so i cancelled out 6x and 6y and did the addition stuff so i got

    30x+7z=-55

    then i did

    -3*(8x+2y-z=-25)

    and that turned into

    -24x-6y+3z=75 and the othr equatin was

    -5x+6y-2z=17

    so i cancelled out the 6y's again and did the addition and got

    -29x+3z=92?where did i go wrong and how can i fix it?

    Ok so this time, i got a harder one,

    3x+2y-8z=4

    6x+4y-16z=8

    12x+8y-32z=16

    Ok, so my teacher said the most efficient way to do this problem was via the addition method, so i did it, but i realized that when it all comes down to the cancelling things out, everything cancels out, so i don't know what that is? is that all reall numbers or no solution? can someone help me here?

    2.Locus of points = Distance from floor to ceiling. We have a room, it has a floor and a ceiling. What is the locus? (for this one, i think it's a plane, but if the plane goes on forever, i don't think the floor and ceiling will be equidistant from every point on the plane, so, ive figured the locus is either a plane in between the floor and ceiling that goes on forever, or a rectangle in between the floor and ceiling,)

    1. There is a square SQAR and a segment that's length is SQ(the segment isn't SQ, it's length is the lenght of SQ). THe segment moves so that it's endpts stay on SQAR. what is teh locus of the midpoint of the segment as it moves. (P.S. To clarify, i want the locus of how the midpoint moved, not the locus of the segment Thank you.)
