  • Soviet invasion of the US movie or miniseries from the 80s?

Around the mid 1980s a film or miniseries came out about a fictional Soviet takeover of the US. At one point a Soviet politician stands before congress with the Russian Army standing guard. He demands they work for their new masters or sign paperwork to that effect. (something like that) They begin angrily chanting "No! No! No!" until the politico sadly shakes his head and walks out of the room to the sound of automatic weapons fire in the background as Congress is presumably gunned down. Anyone have any idea what this is? It's not Red Dawn or The Day After and I don't think that it's the miniseries Amerika.

  • Name of an obscure bilingual sitcom from the late 90's or early 2000's?

Folks, here's where you're going to work hard for your points. I was in Australia in late 2003 and flipped on some French/English sitcom that reminded me a little of 'Saved By the Bell.' The main character is a 20-ish American or Canadian (by his accent) living in a French-speaking nation. All of his teen or 20-something friends spoke French.

In the episode I saw, he was preparing to marry a French-speaking girl and his goofy best friend was the best man. His English-speaking parents came for the wedding and he spent the whole episode translating and mis-translating back and forth. Since there were no subtitles for either language, and since Australia and Canada are also both part of the British Commonwealth, I'm guessing it was a Canadian show taking place in Quebec. (I could be wrong.) I'm also guessing that it lasted for at least a few seasons, since the main character's relationship developed enough for him to get married. (I could be wrong again.)

I have searched high and low for that show in both French and Canadian listings with no success. Any help would be appreciated...

  • Please help me with the name of an alien invasion/infection movie from the 90's.?

I'm trying to find the name of an alien invasion movie (or miniseries), probably from the mid to late 90's, where one of the heroes is a woman who gets infected with an alien organism that leaves some kind of yellowish marks on her body. This infection connects her to the aliens in some way, so she knows what they are planning. With her help, the good guys manage to save the earth and repel the invaders. However, at the end, she wanders an abandoned (presumably contaminated) city right before the military drops a nuclear bomb on it to sterilize it. It might be an adaptation of one of L. Ron Hubbard's books, but I'm not sure. Anyone have any clue about the name of this movie?

  • What was the detective/science show in the 80s where the hero uses his knowledge to solve mysteries called?

No, it wasn't Macgyver, but had a similar theme. It definately wasn't Weird Science. In one episode a murderer turns out to be a monkey who watches too many murder mysteries on tv. Young kids put subliminal messages in his 'thinking tape' in another that cause him and others to act strangely. A mysterious apparition turns out to be ball lightning caused by watering the plants. It probably only lasted one season before fading into obscurity. The name 'Austin' keeps popping into my head. That may be the name of the character or the actor or just early onset Alzheimer's disease. Somebody please help.

  • What was the cop movie where he closes his eyes and describes a staged crime scene... plus the Brawny prices?

It came out at least 15 years ago. The cop's partner makes him stop and close his eyes. He says something like,"I see two gunmen, a hostage down, and Brawny for 99 cents a roll."

  • Who was the woman a few years back whose mom bought her breast implants so she could become a porn star?

The other day, I was curious for some bizarre reason if she made it or not in the porn world. The story seems to have completely disappeared from online media, so I'm guessing the answer is no.
