I have been shooting since the days when film roamed the earth. Film teaches you a lot more about photography, because there was an expense incurred every time you pushed the shutter button. You learn more about lighting and how to read the light, color, direction and temperature. This knowledge has helped me make the transition to digital. here's my current website: http://cgipix.com/ my portfolio: http://cgipix.com/Portfolio_Photographer_Wildlife_Scenics_Landscapes_Sports.htm animal pictures: http://www.flickr.com/photos/cgipix/
Who has a good free HTML e-mail editor, server based?
Need to send out an HTML newsletter and the e-mail service I used in past has been bought out and lost the HTML e-mail capability.
Looking for an internet/server based e-mail program (Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail, etc.) that is free to use, and will let you send an HTML e-mail message.
Tried using Gmail, Hotmail and Yahoo, and their systems don't seem to have any HTML editing functions.
Anyone have a good e-mail they use for that?
Thank you.

I'm sort of partial to 1, you can see the eye, and it's super sharp. #3 has more action, but not as close.
5 AnswersPhotography1 decade agoWhat are the most "annoying" questions you've answered?
For all of the serious photographers and contributors, what's the most annoying question you've answered?
Not the troll questions, those are meant to be annoying and are sometimes funny. I'm talking about the standard ones.
Am I cute?
How good are my photos?
Will my P&S create incredible wedding images?
Just a quick recap of the question, and a brief summary of why you thought it was so bad, no need to link to it or put names in.
My 2 answers-
The girl who asked if she could make a living out of taking pictures like these- The pictures were self portraits, with scribbling on her hands. Not just are they good, can I sell them, but actually make a living at it, that's what amazed me.
The recent high school grad who wanted to shoot for National Geographic- "Do I need to take classes, as I already know so much about photography."
I've been shooting for years, and can still learn more about photography. That's the reason for me to answer questions, to read things other people say and learn more.
12 AnswersPhotography1 decade agoCopyright Infringement of photos on a website- Is a cease and desist order required or a courtesy?
If someone is using my pictures on their website, do I have to send a cease and desist letter, or can you go straight to filing suit?
Sending a cease and desist letter is going to cost money to have a lawyer send it, why not skip that step and go straight to suit? Not worried if it reduces damages that can be collected, as long as it will be a legal claim.
6 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoGetty Stock Images Flickr vs Regular, is anyone using either?
Looked at Getty Flickr, (of course, late at night) and saw in the morning that their royalty payout is 20-30% for images. 70% commission seems a bit steep.
What's the payout for submitting and being accepted through the regular Getty Stock image programs?
I submitted these 10 to Getty Flickr before seeing the 70% commission, if they like them going to see who else will accept them.

What stock agencies do you use and prefer? Preferably US based.
4 AnswersPhotography1 decade agoWhich one of these animal photos do you like the most, and why?
Here are some animal pictures/portraits taken at a local zoo. Wonder which ones have the most personality and which ones elicit the most emotional responses when you look at them?

4 AnswersPhotography1 decade agoBuilding a website to showcase my photography, looking for some feedback?
Looking for ideas, hints, ease of navigation, etc.
The site is not done yet, but working on these pages first, want to get some more feedback:
http://cgipix.com/San_Diego_Wild_Animal_Park_Pictu...
http://cgipix.com/Wild_Animal_Park_Lions_Pictures_...
Do the colors blend well?
Are fonts easy to read?
Is the Next/Previous navigation on pictures OK?
Let me know what you think.
Thanks for input.
1 AnswerPhotography1 decade agoBuilding a website to show my photography, looking for feedback?
This is just the first few pages, and looking for feedback before it starts getting big.
http://www.cgipix.com/index.htm
http://www.cgipix.com/Surfing.htm
http://www.cgipix.com/Wild_Animal_Park.htm
Things like:
Are the photos too small on first page, they will link to larger pics, try wild animal park and surfing pics.
Does the design look appropriate.
Do the colors present themselves well.
Is font easy to read.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
