  • Will we lose the War in Afghanistan thanks to Obama?

As an Iraq War veteran, I am extremely concerned about the way things are going in Afghanistan; the commander on the ground, Gen. Mc Crystal is asking for more troops, 40,000 if i am not mistaken and Obama is more concerned about the Olympics and the Nobel Peace Prize; a few days ago, one of our outposts was overrun by the Taliban and we lost 9 men, meanwhile the President is concerned more about appeasing our critics in Europe...

I do not concern myself with politics much, but when the CinC begins to preach that he will put pressure on the Taliban and focus the attention on Afghanistan; then hesitates about sending more troops to fight the insurgency in Afghanistan; that gives me reason to be concerned.

I am in the process of returning to service, which means that I will most likely go to Afghanistan myself; I want to be sure that if I am going out there to risk my neck, I know that the people in my government will do whatever it takes to keep me supplied, equipped and bring enough reinforcements for me to do my job.

Last thing I want is for Afghanistan to be my generation's Vietnam and I don't want this war to be lost on my watch. WHat say you?

  • Fred Phelps (Westboro) picketing Heth Ledger's funeral?

Anti-gay minister Fred Phelps has vowed to protest at the funeral of actor Heath Ledger, who was tragically found dead on Tuesday of unknown causes. Phelps' Westboro Baptist Church is legendary for their hatred of gays and protests at the funerals of gay-bashing victims and soldiers in the U.S. military.

"God hates fag-enablers," the Westboro Baptist Church proclaimed in a news release issued yesterday, concluding with: "Heath Ledger is now in Hell and has begun serving his eternal sentence—beside which, nothing else about Heath Ledger is relevant or consequential."

First, he protested military funerals, then he had the gall to protest the victims of a terrible bus crash in Huntsville, Alabama back in November, 2006; now he and his ilk are protesting Heath Ledger's funeral.

Can you get any fruitier than that?
