My Nephew put power steering fluid in my master cylinder?
Ok so my teen age nephew put power steering fluid in my master cylinder, Enough to top it off. Maybe an ounce or so. The car is a 1987 thunderbird. The fluid was in there for 5 hours. When I found out, I took a Turkey baster and drained as much fluid out of the master cylinder as I could. I added brake fluid, and drained as much as I could again and added fluid.
Do you think this will be enough, or should I bleed the brakes? Won't bleeding the brakes get what little power steering fluid there was left after I drained it, in the rest of the system?
Since it is like 5am in the morning, my mechanic is not open but I will call him later today. I just would like to see if there happens to be any car buffs on tonight and what they think.
Thanks! 10 points best answer and I will choose, won't forget. :)
