I bleached, then dyed my blonde bangs pink (with the semi-permanent stuff), and now I'm trying to dye it back to blonde (like the rest of my head).

I tried washing it over 12 times with Prell and other shampoos, using a hot oil treatment on it, and now just tried dying it with revlon ColorSilk dye. The color has barely faded and I have to dye it by tomorrow. Please answer quickly!

I have naturally dark blonde hair which I have never dyed. I want to dye it medium blonde at home with a boxed hair dye. If I choose a hair color that is lighter than my hair will it actually lighten it or just not show up? I've heard that box dyes just deposit color. Will it do anything if my hair is darker?
