Why do a lot of drawings have a lot of random/measure lines?
So I've been trying to draw anime characters and so, but I'm usually not too good at it. When I search online, I see many sketches of characters. Sometimes, the creator posts a rough sketch of the character before he/she cleans and colors it. Those sketches usually have a lot of measure lines that look very rough and... artistic.
Is there a big reason for all these lines, and if there is, how do I use them to improve my drawings?
