How to find the equivalent to this equation?
I'll try and keep this short and simple. I'm nearing the end of my summer math packet for school and will be taking honors geometry this year. I'd say about 90% of the problems make sense to me except problems along these lines...
'' Find the equivalent to this equation:
equation: 2x + 3 = 8x - 15
Can somebody give me a step by step tutorial on how to solve this? It would be greatly appreciated.
2 AnswersHomework Help9 years agoWhat was your favorite Richard Bachman (Stephen King) novel?
Hey, I'm just curious to know what everyone's personal favorite Bachman book was. I'm in 8th grade and love reading horror/science fiction stuff. Up until awhile ago I decided to give King a try. I saw ''Blaze'' lying on a bookshelf in a used bookstore and decided to buy it. In the end I thought it was petty good for my first King book. When I saw that he was writing under his pen name of RB I did little more investigating, My family is telling me I need to read some of his bigger works like 'The Stand, The Dark Tower series, IT, and so on... Though I would like to still get a better feeling for his writing before I read his better stuff and I figured the Bachman books were a good place to start. After reading Blaze I picked up a copy of ''The Regulators.'' I couldn't put it down. I'm also finishing The TommyKnockers, this has also proven to be a fantastic read. In any case my mom was bugging me for weeks about what I wanted for Christmas. After awhile I finally gave in and said I wanted a new acoustic-electric guitar, and the last 4 Bachman books. Again out of curiosity, what Bachman novel was your favorite?
In case you don't remember the books he wrote under his pen name were:
1977-Rage
1979 - The Long Walk
1981 - Road Work
1982 - The Running Man
1984 - Thinner
1996 - The Regulators
2007 - Blaze
2 AnswersBooks & Authors9 years agoCan somebody professional interpret this dream for me?
Let me start by saying this isn't exactly something I normally do. As weird as it may seem I need somebody to tell me what this dream means because I think its important to me. I'm going to be as detailed as possible. However first you may need to know some things about my past. When I was young (ages 4-7) I hardly ever saw my dad because he was generally busy plus he lived in another state. As I aged to around 8 he eventually moved to Arizona. He moved into a nice place, got a job that required much less travel, and he had overall a lot more chances too see me. Despite this I usually only saw him 1-2 a month. Around when I was 10 he got a girlfriend. He began too care much less about me and things got pretty bad between me and the rest of our family. Its been 3 years since I've even talked to him (I'm 13 now.) I don't think about him too much anymore, maybe every once and awhile, though I usually shrug it off. In any case this dream I had just made me think about him, here it is as best as I could remember it.
The dream started out as I entered his house here in Arizona. I ran into him and his girlfriend Andrea. We said hi to each other but could feel how it was kind of awkward...In any case Andrea eventually left us alone and we began to talk. I remember specifically saying ''So it's been awhile, about 3 years right..?'' which he replied with ''Yeah. After our Fallout with me being involved with you and your life....'' And we eventually trailed off in conversation. In any case I walked into my old room I had while I was over there. I looked through a lot of old things which bought back good memories. The odd thing was their was a shelf full of masks, masks like you would see in a Halloween superstore I suppose...At that point I left my room and went out to find My dad, andrea, and about 12-15 others all gathered in the living room surrounding what I believe was a baby. Oddly enough I recognized a girl from my school was present, her names Justine. Truthfully I hardly ever talk to Justine, so I'm not sure why she was present...In any case I tried moving towards the baby, yet everyone moved away and seemed to be frightened by what I did. Only then did I realize that I was a ghost( I don't think people actually saw me in the dream, but they could still feel my presence). I tried telling everyone that I only wanted to help, but this seemed to confuse them even more. At this point the dream ended.
So what does everyone think? I had a few ideas of my own, but I wanted a professional to help me with this, just to be sure. What does this dream mean, why was I a ghost, why was Justine present, and what I'd like to know most of all why where the masks in my room? And once again, I haven't thought about my past with my dad at all for months up until now. So why did it come to me in my dream?
2 AnswersDream Interpretation10 years agoIs it normal at my age...?
Well this is the last place I expected to be asking for help, and before I ask my question let me say that this is a bit uncomfortable for me. To start off I'm 13 years old and a fairly religious Christian though I believe most of my family is starting to lose their faith. HOWEVER, I'm a very free minded Christian and have my own personal thoughts about life after death and the whole purpose of life. I don't want any responses claiming that the devil forces us to sin and leads us to corrupt solutions or anything along those lines it's truly annoying, I don't believe people work that way. I just want to make that clear. Now for my question. My question is that do a lot of people at my age watch pornography or another form of it. For that matter do many adults watch it? I was reading some questions earlier regarding married couples where the husband was watching pornography, many people said while it may be a bad habit it was normal and ok as long as it wasn't child pornography.
Frankly I've seen regular porn and it flat out disgusts me. Now on the other hand I have viewed some....''light porn'' so to speak...I'm not sure if this is weird but Specifically I watch mixed wrestling matches between a man and a woman, where the woman completely dominates and performs some very sexual moves on the man that flat out just turn me on. I've been viewing it from time to time for about a year and a half now when nobody else is in the house. I've tried to resist doing it as much as possible and feel so sick of myself after masturbating to it. After I fail to resist I typically pray for forgiveness, And I truly am sorry, I'm just not sure if God has the patience to keep forgiving me, I truly feel awful and I'm starting to get scared. To make matters worse this summer has been long for the entire family, My moms boyfriend of 2 years moved in last Christmas and this summer we've been trying to get his daughter to move in and....Shes been fighting it along with her grandparents and former drug addicted mother, it a long story,,, Anyway its been stressful for the last few months and I've needed to watch it more frequently than usual because it relieves stress. I feel so bad. Plus if my mom figured it out she would kill me, and I really don't want to upset her. She's already stressed enough.
Basically like I asked do a lot of people my age watch stuff like this, do adults watch this stuff frequently? Is it normal? I just want to break this habit because well...I feel like a loser and that I'm disappointing God :( . In addition I never watched it much to begin with. Maybe 2-3 times a month because I resisted the best I could. And just to clear things up I want to wait before sex. The last thing I want to do is lose my virginity at an early age. Hopefully the first person who I'm intimate with I will love, and that person will be a good friend. However I truly want to be in love before I have sex. Just wanted to say that :)
5 AnswersNewborn & Baby10 years agoI'm a 13 year old guy and love old school music. Is that a bit weird?
The question says it all. I'm 13 years old and I love old school music from the 40's, 50's,60's ect.... That's mainly what I listen too while all my other friends listen to Lady Gaga, Kesha, Bruno Mars, Justin Bieber, ect.... I just find it so unappealing compared to old music. Is it weird for me too like Old school music?
