“forever sun-drenched”

Looked at you from across the street,

I was wearing clothes that never fit me.

You wrapped your hair all up in a bun.

It was three a.m. when your love hit me.

It struck me down, like a lightning bolt,

the sidewalk caught me as I fell.

My heart is septic, and someone left it

at the bottom of the well.

Under February snow

you can hear the new life grow,

humming melodies that hover

inches underneath the cover

of their frozen white enclosure.

Close your eyes, I see you:

On a hill, in the dead of winter,

wrapped in sky-blue cotton sheets,

you were sitting with your head up high.

I was lying at your feet.

When I feel that warm rain fall,

I will burst out strong and tall.

Rinse me off.

Eat my flesh.

Bittersweet,

tastes so fresh.

In the wind my skin feels tighter,

next to you the sun shines brighter,

every surface starts to glimmer

with the heated air of summer.

My legs were feeble, and my arms were weak,

but I crawled the whole way through.

I guess the summer never really ended.

It still hurts to think of you.

Way down here, where the grass is thick,

where water runs through the river so quick,

I will wait

still as ice

for the green

of your eyes.

until you

love me too.

i wrote it for a school assignment. the assignment was to create a poem called "the beowulf in me" or "the grendel in me" as we're reading beowulf and this is what i came up with. i actually enjoyed writing it but i'm not sure if it's good or just weird. feedback would be greatly appreciated.

"The Beowulf in me"

The Beowulf in me

Comes out late at night

To tear down the sky

With hands big as seas

And wraps it round my sides

Its blackness loose and gaping

Draping down sleek and cool

Wants just to swallow me whole

Next to Beowulf I’m safe

Shielded from the rain and snow

Follow blindly as he goes

Wrapped in bearskin winter clothes

Sword asleep inside a sheath

Made of bones and hair and teeth

From a monster and his mother

Once so wicked, two dead fiends

Face the darkness of their deeds

To sit and wait in dreamless sleep

Steel inside them sharp and clean

I hear him call out

Songs by birds extinct

That echo through halls

Into rooms unseen

Waiting for new life

Thrust from lips pursed tight

Meeting the gray walls

Without resistance

As they are old friends

At the tunnel’s end

Green vines line the walls

Roots grow strong beneath

My bare calloused feet

The air tastes so sweet

In Beowulf’s place

I stand as he stands

Two feet planted firm

And legs stiff as trees

Deep down in the dirt

Down below everything

A place for no man

No creature or song

Could ever here be

Just Beowulf and me

Stars whine quiet and sweet

Dark clouds run down my spine

I hear Beowulf say

Put it back before the day

Leaks soft into night

And shakes you awake

And makes grass grow high

All the children run and hide

From the burning ball of fire

But in his half shut eyes

Teeth so brilliant white

You can feel him smile

Through the coldest night

So I sew up the sky

With my arms made of clay

Morning light fills the air

Glows dull on Beowulf’s hair

Armor shines too bright to see

Him disappear with the breeze

To a gold-encrusted place

Where only Beowulf could be

with like a 2 octave vocal range? if you're squealing like a pig to hit the high notes there's something wrong.

my hp laptop running windows 7 has just now decided not to recognize its power cord, which is plugged in to the wall and the laptop securely. yes, i checked every connection on the power cord very thoroughly and it's perfect. my battery power is dwindling and i really have no idea what to do. i tried booting without a battery, it didn't work. thanks in advance.

why do i always hear people complaining that it's against the law to murder someone just for entering your house? i'm not talking about people who are clearly trying to kill you but why do people place their own material goods over a human life?

my xbox broke so i took it to best buy where i had a warranty that guarantees it will be replaced by a new one on the spot. now i can't redownload my arcade games onto the new hard drive because it says that they're assigned to another console. how do i get the games i paid for?
