  • Why shouldn't my parents allow me to buy an ipod touch with my own money?

I’m Korean, and my parents are really strict. I got a job at school and earned my own money and saved up from birthdays etc. to get $300. I am literally #1 in my class in high school, I’m a sophomore, and I get perfect grades. I do amazing at music, went to state, do my chores, and am basically the perfect student. I recently got a 34 on my ACT freshman year. So last week, I asked her very politely if I could my an ipod touch with my own money. I gave her my reasons, like I study hard, do great in school, don’t get in trouble, all I want is something to do when I’m bored etc… She said no outright. I asked her why I couldn’t get one, and she said my grades would go down. Now, that's pretty typical of a korean mom, but I know how to manage my time and I'm not going to get obsessed with it, and I already have a computer and I budget my time well. So I really don't see the problem. I told her that, and she said no again, and she won't back down, no matter what. My older brother has one (that he bought off a friend), so y can't i get one? I don't understand this.

I was just wanting to see other people's input and opinions on why I am not allowed to buy myself an ipod touch.

  • Can I put two passwords on one account? HOW?

My parents are putting a password on the only login of my computer. I was wondering if I could make the login recognize 2 passwords so that I can use the comp.

-Ive tried making new accounts, but my parents noticed

-Ive tried to look at the keyboard, didnt work

-tried putting the comp in sleep w/o a p/w, but got caught

IS THIS POSSIBLE, AND IF IT IS, HOW

  • Simple, easy math questions? easy 10 points?

if you can only answer a couple, thats fine too

    please show a little work

    1. one light has a 7 watt bulb; a second light has a 40 watt bulb; a third light has a 75 watt bulb. two of these lights are selected at random and turned on. the other light is left off. if the two lights selected are left on for 12 hours, find the probability that more than 1 kilowatt-hour of electric energy will be used for these 12 hours. express your answer as a common fraction reduced to lowest terms.

    2. find the sum of all integers greater than twenty and less than one thousand whose number base five representation consists of all identical digits. express your answer for the sum as a base ten numeral.

    3. the two distinct diagonals of a convex quadrilateral intersect each other. always, sometimes, or never?

    4. Points A, B, C, and D lie of plane f. no three of the four points are collinear. from point p outside the plan, segment PA is drawn such that <PAB=(5x+y+2) degrees, <PAC=(2x+3y-5) degrees, and <PAD=(8x+w-28) degrees. for what value of w is segment PA perpendicular to f?
