  • Did Elrond from lotr make any speeches before or after the feast?

My friend and I are writing a fanfiction and we are including the feast from the book, the one before the council of Elrond, but we don't have the lord of the rings books so we're not sure whether or not Elrond makes a speech before the feast or as they move to the hall of fire. (not sure if that's really what its called) If he does make a speech and you have the book or know the jist of it it would help us a lot if you wrote it in your answer! Thanks!

  • Can you use cappuccino powder instead of espresso powder in a recipe?

I am NOT a coffee person. So I have no idea what either cappuccino or espresso really tastes like. All I know is that the recipe for brownies calls for a teaspoon of instant espresso powder but all I have is instant rich chocolate flavored cappuccino and instant rich amaretto flavored cappuccino. (I admit to not not knowing what amaretto is.)

SO my question to you is can that be used as a substitute? And if so, how much? And if not, what should I do?

Any help is very much appreciated. :)

  • Anyone know the meringue recipe that goes with these ingrediants?

I've made meringue cookies from a recipe a few times and loved them, but I have misplaced the recipe. Thing is I don't remember if it was from a cookbook, a magazine, or off the internet. What I do remember was that it was made up of egg whites, sugar, cream of tar tar, white vinegar, vanilla, and an option for some cocoa powered if you wanted to make chocolate ones. I also remember that it was baked for 4 hours at 200 degrees. I just cant remember what the amount of the ingredients were and the process of making it. If anyone recognizes the recipe please let me know. Thanks.

  • Pottermore Chapter one Question?

So I got my Pottermore email today and was all excited to get started. I have gotten to book one chapter one and clicked one the purple outlined thing (no spoilers) but is that how it goes? Do i just have to click on the thing and read the extras? What about the actual book, how do i get to that?

This might just be me being my 'over looks the obvious' self, but i'm confused. Any help is welcomed! ^^

  • Can I subsitute Semi-sweet chocolate for unsweetened?

Hey I'm making waffle cookies and the recipe calls for an ounce of unsweetened chocolate but all I have is semi-sweet. Can I just use an ounce of that? Will it effect it much? The recipe then calls for 6 Tbs of sugar, if I use semi-sweet should I decrease the amount of sugar I use?? If so, how much? I can't actually go and get some unsweetened so please do not suggest that. Thanks for any and all help!! ^ ^

  • If I paint on hard boiled eggs with actual paint (acrylic) will it harm the actual egg inside?

Hey, I wanted to do something for Easter and this year instead of going with the usaul submerging eggs in that store bought dye I wanted to try actually painting them. At first it seemed like a good idea, i mean the shells should protect the inside from the paint, right? But then came memories of Easters past of eating eggs that were dyed pastel from dipping them. So my question to you, yahoo answer dwellers, is if I paint on hard boiled eggs (the shells obviously0 with actual paint (acrylic) will it harm the actual egg inside (make it so I can't eat it with getting sick or something?)

The only other option then would be to pick the eggs and empty the insides, which I can do but hard boiled eggs is just more Easter-ish to me.

Thank you for your help!! ^^

  • Problems when trying to make meringue?

Eggs arn't peaking! While that sounds weird, I put the cream of tartar and the eggs whites together in the mixer and that a foamy mixture that sort of held its peak when i took out the wisk. But then i added the sugar and its not making a stiff peak!! The recipe said beat it for '4 minutes or until..' But i've beat it now for 8 minutes and only got a flimsy peak that seemed a little to wet. Fist time making meringue and am not by far any thing close to an experienced baker. So PLS help or explain....something. XP Thanks.
