Should i start pulling her mane?
http://fc02.deviantart.net/fs71/i/2011/058/4/e/dol...
i've had this filly for almost 6 months, she was in rough shape when i got her.
she's almost 3 years old and her mane was very sun bleached and ripped out in some places, so i kept it trimmed for a while.
Now that her mane is healthy and thick, i'm on the fence whether i want to pluck it or let it grow.
looking at her neck it's slightly short so i thought that with proper braiding it could give the apperance her neck it longer. but i love long manes, all the horses i have ever had had long manes but my oldenberg that i had.
she's not pure bred, i have a hunch she maybe part saddlebred/paint because of her beautiful trot, but i don't really care what she is.
whats your guy's opinion? just don't tear her apart crituqeing her, i know she's not perfect.
5 AnswersHorses1 decade agoGosh, i'm asking it too?
what do you guys think this little girl might look like in a couple of years? What do you think she could possibly be worth later on after she gains weight and grows?

yes i know she's in bad shape, i got her a little over a month ago, but i like to wonder what these guys might look like in a year or two.

1 AnswerHorses1 decade agofancy, frilly, feathery, showy tack, where can i get some?
i was watching the equifest last week(or when ever it was, can't remember) and i was watching the "circus" saddlebreds and they had all the fancy white leather and feather plumes. i was wondering where you get that stuff, or where can you get it custom made, because i would like to participate in the local parade this fall and would like my horses to stand out since most of the horses will probably have just ranch work western saddles and blah stuff. also, how much would it cost, i know it will probably be alot...

4 AnswersLyrics1 decade agoshould i change my colors?
ever since i was a little girl and i had my crazy chestnut paint, my tack colours(halter, lead rope, trough, grooming tools, blankets) have been hunter green and royal blue. a few months ago i got a saddlebred/paint cross filly(Dollie May) that was about 2, now about 2 1/2. i have a leather halter and white lead rope and my old mare has all hunter green and black stuff, should i go with royal blue for the filly, or should i change, sometimes i think i don't change things enough, i always do things pretty much the same. but i have maroon saddle pad for my aussie saddle that i put on my mare, should i do maroon and another color, just for change? i also need to replace somethings that are geting old, alas if only things lasted forever.
these are my 2 personal horses, they live on my property.(even though i work with Friend's and family's horses as well at times)
anyways, what colour(s) do you think i should use for the new filly?

8 AnswersHorses1 decade agoMilepost gallop boots, hard to clean?
i have a front pair of milepost gallop boots for my filly. i like them, they work well, but the down side is they are very hard to clean, seeds, grass, and dirt get stuck in it and it takes a while to pick out all the debris. does any one have this problem with similar products and have a way of cleaning them out thats a little quicker, like a brush of some type of soap.(i clean them after every use)

1 AnswerHorses1 decade agoSaddlebred Cross for jumping?
i got a saddlebred paint cross a few months ago and i was wonder what other saddlebred owners thought about their jumping ability. the only other saddlebred cross i have been around was when i was young and she was mean, nasty, and hateful, she also jumped 6ft gates right out of her pen. but this filly is sweet and smart.
i don't want to hear about horsemanship and how to train, i just want to know if you ride one for jumping and if you like them.
heres a picture of her, she's only 2 1/2 right now
