The family is planning on visiting England and Scotland in April. What to see and where to go?
We will be going with our 2 boys ages 11 and 13, my hubby and I, and his 80 year old parents. We love nature, whisky, and want to see the 'real' UK - not just touristy places. We will be in each for about 4 or 5 days. So, what are the best places to see and things to do?

Was out canoeing on the border of PA and NY when I saw a yellow flower - looking quite like queen Ann's lace, but it was bright yellow instead of white. Do you know what it is? I tried googling yellow wildflowers and did not see it. It was pretty high on the side of the river - above the water line, easily so it is not an emergent plant. It did not look like yarrow or yellow rocket. (Sorry - did not have a camera with me)

3 AnswersBotany1 decade agoHow do you teach your dog to be a door bell?
My Shiloh Shepherds are wonderful, sweet dogs - so people friendly that if someone comes to the door they stare at the door and wag their tail. They will happily let anyone in and all they do is wag their tails faster and find a toy to present to the guest. This is great, usually, but I have been surprised in the shower to often and would like them to just give me a warning that someone is there - not aggressive - just an alert. Any ideas?

Leaving my house the other day I noticed a vole running in circles in the street. He continued to do this for near five minutes before he managed to straiten out enough to run up the lawn and under the shrubs. I find it hard to believe a car could have clipped him just enough to cause brain damage - could it be a parasite or something?

Fertilized bee eggs become female bees, with diet determining the queen, and unfertilized eggs are male, but how do ants make up to 9 different castes?
