Would an associates in engineering while being a certified welder have any value?
I've finished 2 years of schooling for my bachelors in mechanical engineering. I feel like I am drowning, I sort of hate it. I want to change my degree to welding (a course is offered at a local community college to receive certification). I have almost enough credits for my associates in engineering, I just wanted to know if I should grab an associates in engineering while getting certified as a welder. Would it help me at all?
2 AnswersEngineering5 years agoWhy does the government take part in our right to drive?
The driving test was ridiculously easy. All it takes is common sense. How can the government determine that I am fit to drive when they use a test that a 10 year old could pass with moderate studying. Is this just another example of the government sticking its nose where it doesn't belong? Or an example of their laziness? Open to either side.
1 AnswerGovernment5 years agoSocializing at Comic-Con?
I m going to my local comic con this year, mostly to enjoy the panels and get autographs but i d also like to socialize. The only problem is panels are kinda anti-social and in the exhibitor hall people seem more concerned with whats for sale. Just wondering if there are types of events to look out for that are good for socializing.
3 AnswersComics & Animation5 years agoMechanical vs robotics engineering?
I would like to do either as a career, but im not sure which would be better.
I feel id do better in college because i can take robotics at asu poly tech which is by my house whereas i would have to drive to tempe for mechanical.
Im leaning to robotics but if the lookout for it is bad ill go for mechanical. Just wanted some input, (bachelors degree btw, not looking into grad school)

2 AnswersComputer Networking5 years agoMy windshield wipers run 3 times on start up.?
This doesn t happen every time but often enough for me to be concerned. It is usually more consistent when it is cold out, though I don t see a connection. I can t find any info about this online. It goes for exactly 3 times when it does happen. Its a 94 mustang if that helps.
1 AnswerMaintenance & Repairs5 years agoWhy do people think that America could never fall to a tyranny?
Greece did in the late 60's to early 70's. It could be that people believe we would have to vote for a tyrant, but I'd like to believe most people are smart enough to know that isn't true.
So why then? What is it that makes America immune while other countries are susceptible?
3 AnswersPolitics5 years agoWhy do people think that technology will replace engineers?
First and foremost people overestimate modern tech if they think that it can accomplish more than menial tasks without assistance. That much goes without saying.
I don t understand how people believe that computers can eliminate the need for engineers, teachers ect. That would imply a program capable of abstract thought, which in my opinion is unethical (considering the possibility of a robot uprising). Furthermore why would engineers create something that would threaten their employment?
The point is I want to know why people have these beliefs. If you have links to support their claims I d be interested to learn.

1 AnswerMathematics5 years agoShould believing that the U.S. is the greatest country in the world be A requirement for citizenship (regardless of your birth place).?
Yes that does mean if you are born here from a long line of Americans and you prefer a different country you shouldn t be a citizen.
Just like it means if someone is born in a different country, but love the U.S. and believe it to be the best country in the world they should be welcomed with open arms.
Loving and hating this country stems from both the political right and left. What is most interesting is that the people who are trying to tear us all apart share their hatred for this country.
When people who hate this country argue over how this country should become greater they tend to use comparisons to countries and or eras that they believe are superior. Examples: "We should be like Canada, 1920 s America, Russia, U.K., Denmark, Saudi Arabia (though not directly referenced the ideals match up).
As most people know the statement "The U.S. is the best country in the world" is often debated objectively through statistics including education, incarceration, freedom, security, ect. I believe that discussing greatness in this context is pointless. There is no universally Great place for everyone, this question should be limited to subjectivity. Thinking that the U.S. has issues that need fixing does not equal hatred.
Since this is thought policing I am in no way supporting enacting this. This post is more of a way to get this emotional knee jerk reaction off my chest so I can move on.
10 AnswersPolitics6 years agoWork out routine and nutrition.?
I am hoping that someone can point me towards a good forum or site which will contain complete guides to work out routines and diets ( specifying what to eat when and how much).
I don't have time to research being that I am an engineering student, I barely have time to hit the gym for .5-2 hours 3-4 days a week.
1 AnswerDiet & Fitness6 years agoWhite Privilege, is it actually a privilege?
Privilege is a special right or advantage granted to someone. However the occurrences that are referred to as White Privilege are not "special rights" or 'advantages''. These are simply rights that by law are granted to all Americans, therefore not "special". Just because people's rights are being ignored, doesn't mean White people have some sort of privilege.
-If you think the idea is all that is important you are a fool. Specificity is essential for communication and is the key source of your failure to gain broader support.
10 AnswersPolitics6 years agoSystematic Oppression? Or Government Corruption?
It seems what is being considered systematic oppression is actually government officials breaking the law. The law does not permit or encourage negative treatment to anyone based on race. Excluding Affirmative Action it does not promote positive treatment either.
So if the source of the problem is not the law, why would changing/adding laws solve the problem which is caused by corrupt officials?
3 AnswersPolitics6 years agoNeed help finding old netflix movie, 10 points to right answer.?
It was about college kids, i think in minnesota. There was some new drug that had a side effect that turned people into zombies. The end took place in their philosophy class and they were trying to convince their professor that they had done their final assignment using philosphy mumbo jumbo.
I know its not a great description, but o think it was called something like spice if that helps.
