  • My daughter will lose one year of school because she was born in January?

We live in a country where the school admission age is 4 years old for KG1. The rules state that the child should complete 4 years by December 2015, to be admitted for the academnic year 2015-2016.

My daughter will complete 4 year In January 2016. Last year the government gave a 1 month extension, so that any child born in January would be accepted. This year, they removed this exception.

By the time my daughter will enter school (after almost 2 years from now), she'll be already 5 years!, so she's losing a whole year because of these changes in rules and regulations. In my homecountry, the rules are different, and she can easily enter school right now.

Should we leave our jobs and life behind, in this foreign country and go back to our country to prevent our child losing a whole academic year, or should we just follow the rules, stay where we are earning a decent living, but she will pay the price with a whole year?

In my place, what would you do or did you do?

Thank you for any advice you can give.

  • How do I know that my diamond is not lab created one? do certificates mention that? and how about the cracks?

I am planning on buying a 1.12 carat diamond which has been on 60% sale. and I have actually 2 options, one ring with a GIA certificate and the other is with an IGI certificate. I have 2 concerns:

1- How can I be sure that the diamond's origin is from mines (made by the nature's wonders and not by man: a lab created one, which now are widespread too (let alone a moissanite). Does the IGI and/ or GIA certification mention the origin, i.e Russia, Africa, or a lab?

2- How can I be sure that their imperfections are not related to cracks: I have been doing my research lately and I read that some cracks in the natural diamonds are being lab treated, or may endanger the diamond causing it to split in future) does a GIA certificate or /and IGI certificate mention the nature of the cracks when they rate the diamond as having VSI or SI?

3- How to choose the best cut for a round diamond? what are the measurements that I should look for?

    Many thanks for your help!

  • I want to colour my hair lighter, any techniques?

The natural colour of my hair is dark brown, but I've been colouring it dark balck and aubergine for the last 5 years. Now I want to get back to the brown, or maybe light brown. I've been trying to colour it (three times in the last 2 months) without bleaching it first, but it's not working. even I applied a blonde colour, the already coloured hair did not take it.

What can I do to get the light brown? and does bleaching ruin the hair? what are the hidden advices you may give a first-timer in the bleaching process? (I have no idea about it, and I have never done it before by myself).

  • Does lighter color on Dark-dyed hair work without bleacing?

I dyed my hair in dark black, 2 months ago, and now the lighter roots are starting to show and people are telling me that the original color looks nicer.

I am not an expert in hair coloring, so if I apply a lighter dye on a drak-dyed hair, would it work without bleaching? I don't want to bleach as I suspect being pregnant, but i hate my current hair coclor and I want to bring it lighter.

What to do in this case?

  • I think I lost this friendship, how can I clear this misunderstanding!?

The thing that I hate the most is gossip, yet I fell into the trap of one woman and spoke something that can be twisted and make me look like the bad one!

That woman came to me and was trashing my friend and saying how she deserves to get divorced as she's a bad wife. In an attempt to defend my friend who was going through divorce, I started saying how good as a wife she is and how it is her husband who is bad, but my mistake was that I shared some stuff that I witnessed in her husband, his violent attitude and his selfishness, and some other secrets that Were non of my business to talk about...

Now, thankfully my friend did not get divorce, and she's happy with her husband, but she's not answering my messages or my phones, neither does her cousin, who is also my close friend. however, we live in different countries now, so I don't know if this is only a coincidence or that gossiping woman told her what i said about her husband.

Usually I don't care what people think about me, however, these are friends that I don't want to lose. What shall I do?

  • Why would they go for abortion when couples out there are dying to adopt a child?

I am not talking relegioulsy or ethically or any of those theories... I am just talking out of experience: My cousin has been married for 12 years and her partner and herslef tried everything to conceive, they spent a fortune on medicine, travelled abroad to the most sophisticated feritlity hospitals and experts, and the result: They cannot have a baby!

The same day my cousin learnt the test results regarding their infertility, she saw on the news that one teenage girl died while trying to abort her baby in an illegal clinic, and that's in our area.

That was devastating to my cousin, she told me she wished she knew that girl was pregnant she would have given her whatever she wanted just to give her the baby in adoption.

My cousin was ready to pay for her school and 1st year in college, she was ready to give her money (not in exchange of the baby, but only to help her fix herself, especially that the teen's parents did not want anything to do wih her since she got pregnant)...

The scenario could have been a win-win to all concerned parties, but those murderers in the clinic, took too innocent lives in one try!

Why people wouldn't consider adoption instead of abortion? why a pregnant woman cannot sacrifice 9 months of her life till she delivers the baby and then make another family happy by giving that baby to them, and maybe get a token of appreciaton from that family? and please do not tell me cliches like "this is the woman's body so the woman' decision" I agree with that, but why her decision wouldn't be in favor or an unborn baby and an infertile family dying to hold one in their arms!

  • My toddler is afraid of her own shadow?

My baby girl who is now 19 months old has recently developed a weird fear of her own shadow, or actually any shadow of the sun or light (inside or outside the house), if she sees a shadow she starts crying hysterically and close her eyes while shouting: "go away! go go "... Is this normal? what is the reason for that? and how can I handle it?

By the way she's a very brave little girl, and in the playard, she's usually the first one to try new games.

Thank you for your experiences and advices.

  • Do you men feel the same about gifts?

My husband is a generous man, however, I sense that he doesn't like to give gifts, or let's say, he doesn't like to give gifts at a certain anniversary or event. Like, on our anniversary I brought a very expensive gift, and he brought nothing, and then, a month later and without any occasion whatsoever, he brought me a very nice ring! the same happened last Christmas, so this Christmas I guess my gift is just delayed :)

don't get me wrong, I don't CARE about the gift, I just wonder if all men hate to do the expected, and like to act outside the ordinary frame?

    Thanks.

  • How can I help my 15 months old baby sleep on her own?

My baby girl who just turned 15 months doesn't sleep unless she's rocked in her stroller, she falls asleep there, then I move her to her crib.

However, lately it has gotten so uncomfortable to her to sleep in her stroller, but she wouldn't sleep in her crib (cot) either. I have tried to put her in her cot and sit next to her singing and telling her stories so she sleeps, but all in vain coz she's so hyper and she would be happy and all giggling and energetic. Yesterday, I stayed next to her for a whole hour, while she's in her cot, but she would stand there, play, make turns and move all over, non-stop for the whole hour. I tried to just leave her there, she started crying non-stop, full screams, so strong that I thought she'll lose her voice!

In the end, I just put her in her stroller, and it took her only 2 minutes to sleep.

How can I approach this, especially that now she doesn't like her stroller that much either, she actually prefers to be put in her cot, but not to sleep, to play non-stop!

    Any idea would be appreciated.

  • Why does my 14 month old get frustrated whenever she can't fit the number blocks in their right boxes?

I have never pushed her to place the correct numbers in their correct places, I didn't even buy the toy as it says for 3 years old and above, it was a gift. Now she is chosing to play with it all the time, and it's too advanced for her. So, it's like when she puts the numbers where they belong, with a little help from me, she does the victory dance (so cute), but when she cannot, she gets frustrated and starts a tantrum for a few seconds only, because I rush to applaud to her and tell her she's doing a great job, and to smile and say it's ok baby, you're great, etc... to make her feel that it's just a game, not worth her furstration!!

Why this sense of frustration at such an early age? and how can I make her understand that it's ok if she cannot do things perfectly from the first time?

PS: I don't know if this is relevant, but her father is a perfectionist who gets frustrated at the least imperfections!

  • Which is better to cook with: ghee, butter or corn oil? if your todler is also eating the same food as yours?

Now I'm trying to introduce my 14 month old baby girl to our table food, like peas and rice, chiken and vegetables, etc... but I am now concerned of her health so which one is better to cook with: ghee, butter or corn oil? I sometimes use Olive oil as much as I can, but it is not always tasty with all recipies.

    What do you cook with?

  • Putting a one year old baby in a nursery?

What are the advantages and disadvantages in your opinion. My baby girl just turned 13 month today and I registered her in a nursery. I need to to know from an experienced point of view what should I be carfeul about and how should I handle her separation anxiety. Now I take her there, stay for about 10 minutes, and when she's distracted with something else, I sneak out. I cannot even hug her and say Mommy will be back coz she will cry more and wouldn't let me go. I had to put her in a nursery because I have a full time job.

    Thank you all

  • he doesn't like the look of my body, I don't either?

My husband doesn't like my body's looks: after gaining and losing weight ups and downs for many years, my body is becoming a bit saggy. It hurts me that my husband has hinted about it on seperate occasions indirectly, like if I am trying a dress, he always says your feet are not so flattering in short dresses, buy something longer, or better, why not wear pants?

He tries to put this in the less rude way possible, but it still hurts me. I know I don't have the most flattering legs, but with some right sockings, I can wear a dress without repulsing people. I mean, I am still young and I like to feel young. Yesterday I tried a very nice dress, it was flattering my nice curves and hiding the ugly ones, but it was not very long, my husband didn't like it as it showed the curves (which he didn't like) and then said bluntly: why don't you stick to the larger long shirts that can hide your bottom and the pants that can hide your feet.

I didn't buy the dress, and didn't say a word but I was very hurt that at last I found something that suits me, but my husband still sees that it's not suiting my body.

I can even sense that he doesn't mind if I don't go with him to the beach: he has a wonderfully shaped body (so sexy), and his friends' wives have the nicest body, so I can understand why he doesn't want me showing my not very nicely shaped legs, but still it hurts me so much to have this feeling.

Am i stressing over a stupid issue? or I have the right to be hurt?

  • Can someone hypnotize someone else for a whole day?

I mean, can a hypnotized person act normal throughout the day without other people know he's hypnotized? If that's true, can someone really make someone commit a crime that require a long duration of time while hypnotized? and can someone hypnotize a baby for a whole day or days without the parents noticing anything wrong?

Please answer this questions, I'm really concerned about a certain person who might be hypnotizing a baby and a grown up!

  • Why would people say harsh words on yahoo to people they don't know?

I just posted a question and one person answered: "get a life, maybe your answers are dumb..."

Why would it be easy for people to bully people nehinf their computer while they wouldn't dare to look in the eyes in person ?

It does not matter to me actually lol, but today I woke up and found myself in the mood to ask such questions... just to know others' opinions ;)
