  • Voter Photo ID question...?

Photo ID is required to drive, buy cigarettes, buy alcohol, write a check, or use a credit card but not to vote? Is this not an example of upside-down values??

I understand that some people can't afford to drive, but almost everyone I know still has a driver's license or a state photo ID. They're a lot less expensive than a lot of things I see people not doing without...

Isn't the need to protect the idea of "one-person-one-vote" worth that much inconvenience? To spend 30 minutes down at the DMV to get your picture taken and put on a laminated card that'll last for years and years...

  • A question for Libertarians...?

I understand the idea of not wanting to choose between the lesser of two evils, but if you do not actively choose the lesser, then doesn't that mean you're automatically choosing the greater?

After all, the Constitution that serves to protect us and that we love so much will be put in the shredder if Obama wins again (he *is* a socialist, there's documentation proving it), causes hyper-inflation (several economists have said this is in the wind), and the dollar goes the way of the dodo... It isn't about ideals this time. I honestly believe that it's about the survival of our way of life...

Your third choice can only help the greater of two evils this time... so, which evil will you be choosing?

  • Since ObamaCare *is* a tax after all...?

The Constitution specifies that all Federal Funding Bills must originate in the House of Representatives. But ObamaCare originated in the Senate (at least for legislative purposes). So that means ObamaCare (being construed as a tax by five Justices of the United States Supreme Court) is unconstitutional, by definition. Right? So *by the letter of the law* it must be repealed or struck down... Right?

Frankly, it can't happen fast enough for my taste. My insurance premiums have almost doubled over the past three years, and Obama took $700+ Billion out of Medicare (where it would have lasted ten years) and put it into ObamaCare (where it will only last six).

  • Who's really racist these days?

I'm a teacher. I was asked point-blank by one of my African-American students if I was going to vote for Obama. When I said "no" and explained my reasoning, he said "no, that's not it."

I asked him what he meant, and he said "you're not gonna vote for him 'cause... you know..."

I knew where this was going, but I insisted that he say it. Another student answered for him. "'cause he's black!"

I then went around the room and asked every black male in the room if I was a racist. They each said "no." Even the two who had just said I wouldn't vote for Obama just because he's black.

They tried to say that it's not racist if you don't hate someone, and I told them point-blank "if you make *any* decision based *only* on race, that's racism."

Was I wrong? Is this an attitude that's really dominant in modern black culture?

It sounds like an "us against them" kind of thing, but almost everyone I've ever known my entire life has moved past this kind of thinking in regards to race... Or, maybe they haven't and I'm the only one...? Or maybe I'm deluding myself? I don't think I am...
