When is the best time to buy NCAA Tournament tickets?
I'm looking to buy tickets for one session in the round of 64. Right now they're going for $60, which is about what I can afford, but I don't know who's playing yet or how good they are...
Should I risk waiting until after selection sunday, or will the prices go way up at that point?
3 AnswersBasketball8 years agoHave you ever had a Friday the 13th "curse"?
Or a spooky coincidence, depending on how you view it.
For that matter, have your experiences led you to believe that this day is really cursed?
3 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoWhat's up with A-Rod's eyes?
In the interview, his eyes are completely red. Like, redder than Michael Phelps' eyes after a frat party.
I'm wondering if he's slept at all since this thing started, or if he was crying before the interview...
Anyone else notice this?

What is the benefit of having it the week before the Super Bowl, and in Miami instead of Hawaii?
Please understand I'm looking for possible reasons, not opinions of the moves. If you know a reason for either one that would be great, otherwise I'd like to hear your best guess. Thanks.
10 AnswersFootball (American)1 decade agoWhat teams do you think these players will end up with?
Some of the guys rumored to be on the trading block, or unlikely to re-sign as free agents:
Matt Cassel
Anquan Boldin
Tony Gonzalez
Larry Johnson
Ray Lewis
Derrick Ward
Antonio Bryant
Jeff Garcia
Byron Leftwich
Which of these guys do you think will stay put, where will some of the others go, and why would they be a good fit there?

7 AnswersFootball (American)1 decade agoDo you think Calgary could beat the Detroit Lions?
I keep hearing questions about the Lions playing a college team like Florida, and I don't think a college team could beat an NFL team.
But how about the best of the CFL vs the worst of the NFL?
Is the level of competition close enough?

Which player do you think had the greatest performance in Super Bowl history? Doesn't necessarily have to be the best statistically, but which was the most impressive and memorable?

11 AnswersFootball (American)1 decade agoIs there a player you always thumb down?
Let's say a question asks you to list the best players in some category, or which players would fit a certain team... is there a player that you dislike enough to automatically thumb down whoever listed him?

7 AnswersFootball (American)1 decade agoPossible solution to the BCS problem?
It's really bothering me now more than ever that we don't have a playoff in college football, so I got to thinking about how they could institute a playoff without losing the financial benefits of the bowl games, and this is what I came up with:
First, the bowl games (including the national championship game) are held exactly as they are now. Then, after the bowl games, a "college football invitational tournament" is held, which is completely independent of the BCS. The five teams that won their BCS bowl games are invited to participate, and are seeded based on their BCS rankings. If anyone declines their invitation, it is passed along to the school with the next highest BCS ranking. The four teams other than the national champion have a two-round playoff to decide the tournament champion, and the tournament champion then plays the national champion in a sort of college football super bowl. A trophy is awarded to the winner of this game. If the national champion declines to participate in the tournament then the final game is not played and the tournament champion wins the trophy by default.
It's not perfect, but it's much better than what we have now, and would seem to bypass some of the obstacles to a playoff system.
Thoughts?
