  • Free used "telstra" rope?

In the past we've been able to find people to give us their used "Telstra" Rope. If it has been used once, it can't be used again so we've been able to get it for free.

The person who has organised it for us in the past is no longer with us so we need to start from scratch to find some, but I'm struggling to find out who I can contact to organise it.

Does anyone know how to do this or where to get it from?? Any help is much appreciated!

    Thanks!

  • don't know the name of author or the title of these books?

hello, two books i'm trying to find that i read when i was younger:

the first book is about a unicorn, it's not the "The Last Unicorn". This book is, if I remember correctly, also about a "last unicorn" and it appears in a little girl's dreams. That's about all I remember as definate...I think the unicorn is running from some enemy and it is chasing the unicorn so the unicorn is techinically hiding in the girl's dreams.

the second book is about a boy and his family move to a really quiet part of country Ireland. They live a huge house. There is a storyline about fae/faery and the little people. all the staff who work in the house, are all afraid of the little people. I think at some point the boy goes into Faery (the otherworld) and the queen of the fae tries to keep him there.

i know it's not much to go on, but i was hoping someone might know.

    thanks heaps!

  • MEN: aside from looks what do you look for in a woman?

yes, we know looks are important and they are what attracts you to a woman in the first place (in most cases)...but what are the other qualities you find attractive and make you want to stick with someone long term?

  • wireless help?

ok so i asked before but no one could help me...

i have a d-link di-634m wireless router. I have internet so thats all good but thats only on the main computer in the network. all the correct lights are on on the router except that the WAN light is on instead of the WLAN light. i have no wireless connection because of this (i assume, since i'm not that great with this stuff) and therefore can't get internet on my laptop

does anyone know why this is? how can i get the WLAN light on?

  • wireless lan issues?

so basically, after the router (di-link 634m) was turned off for about a day it has reset itself. this has happened before but after to a couple days it set itself right. i say that it did it on its own because neither i or the other person in the house had changed anything. the other guy who lived with us left in bad terms and he was the one who set up the network. now that the router has been reset i can't even get a connection with my laptop.

the lights are all fine on the router except the WAN light is on not the WLAN light. so there is technically no wireless connection going on. so i've tried logging into the router and looking at the settings but i'm just not THAT computer savvy. i've been trying to fix it but with no avail...it's getting to be quite a pain attaching a lead to my computer so i can use the net. whats the point of having a laptop if you can't take it where ever you like in the house?

thanks for any help you can give

  • could it go further than just a joke?

we have an ongoing joke at work about me and this guy dating...he goes along with the whole thing and has no problems and adding to the joke...

i know it's only a joke, but i am a little attracted to him...

is he possibly a little bit interested in me, seeing as he just goes on with the joke and doesn't seem to have a problem with us joking about it...

i know guys can be a bit funny about that stuff...

  • I just feel so messed up inside.?

I feel completely out of the loop in my own group of friends and I know it’s my own fault. I tend to push people away and I don’t know why, for example when I get angry I’ll say things I don’t mean and regret it later. I’m not happy at uni or my job either. I feel like I’m screwing up my own life and I’m just going down and down. The worst part is, I am aware of the way things are going but I’m just so angry that I can’t change it. I keep thinking it’s too late to fix what I’ve already screwed up.

To make it worse I’ve fallen for a friend, deep down I know he would never want me, so now I’m angry all the time these days and I don’t know how to pull myself out of it. Because I am thinking about him all the time and the way he treats all the other girls. So this is aggravating things further and making it all seem worse. So I’m not only angry with him (because I don’t want to have feelings for him), I’m angry at and with everyone, including myself.

  • tried and true tips?

I've totally fallen for a good friend of mine...I need to get over him pretty quickly because its putting a strain on our friendship (from my side) as i get jealous really easily and i'm finding it really hard to just be his friend...

i know that it wouldn't work out anyway...because for a guy who says he's would never marry a girl just for her looks...he is VERY picky and i don't suit his "type" (not that he said that)...even that thought doesn't make me feel any different about him :S

so i need some tried and true tips on getting over it

  • why didn't he just say something?

i have friend trouble with this guy (we've known each other for 4 years). we get along really well (like best friends) when we're not in a group setting because we think alike we have the same sense of humor etc. but when we're in a group setting he basically ignores me, giving his time to every other person there (especially other girls)

he could be that way, because i spend more time with him than he does with the other girls. but that doesn't mean he should practically ignore me

last week we all went to the movies & it was awful, so as you do in bad movies you make jokes & point out stupid things, i was half talking to him & half talking to another friend. i didn't realize he was getting annoyed. by the time the movie was over & we were in the foyer he didn't say a word to me & the same for the ride home. he told a friend that he would never sit next to me again & remained angry. why didn't he just tell me to be quiet? why did he just get angrier & angrier?

  • we're friends but we fight all the time...?

I've known this guy for 4 years (it might help to know this is a church surrounding, hes the youth pastor i'm another church leader), we have alot of the same interests and we think very much alike. we spend alot of time being angry at each other...mostly because we probably don't communicate properly even though i do try my best. i'll do something he won't agree with and he'll not talk to me about it and get angry with me so i'll get angry that hes angry or not talking to me and it doesn't stop until i bring it up with him...

3 years ago he stopped talking to me for a couple weeks until i finally said something to him...turns out he thought i liked him & he didn't feel the same. i didn't like him and i told him that and made sure he knew i was being honest about it.

He treats me differently to the other girls in our group and it sometimes it really hurts because i've known him for so long. he'll muck around with them all the time etc. ...

  • Cultural Studies Discourse in Laymans Terms?

I am doing an assignment for MSTU2003 (maybe there are some people who have gone to University of Queensland) called a Discourse Map. We had to get an article on health and draw a discourse map and then talk about it in 750 words. I thought I knew what i was doing until i actually started writting. It's due monday and i'm totally lost.

Basicially my lecturer has said that: Discourse is "what is said, considered as a social act"...which i don't exactly get. Can anyone explain discourse to me in laymans terms?

  • how to tell what he thinks of me?

he's a few years older than me but people continuously forget how young i am (19). people my age get angry because people always treat me like im older. i've really liked this guy for a really long time. we get along well, we have very similar likes, dislikes and thought process. when we talk, we have constant unbroken eye contact for the entire conversation (even when we aren't talking) and we talk for hours, the time goes by so quickly. when it comes to things like SMSs for example, he never replies...it makes me think that hes on purposely keeping himself at a distance. because when we are together, it feels like we're really close.

on new years (he invited me to come to his party) we were joking around and i said something a bit rude, he turns around and says be careful what you say shes only a baby refering to another girl there my age. i can't figure out how he feels about me. i thought it was an age thing, but from his comment i'm not sure.

  • is it flirting...or is it just being cute?

one of my supervisors at work a couple weeks back, slapped me on the ***...then a couple days later, when we had to set a room in the dark...asked me 'do you trust me in the dark?' and then when i made a comment about him being some completely opposite to me, he replied with 'opposites attract'. a couple days after he rubbed his hand down my arm in such a way that it definately on purpose...when he passes me in the hall, he always bumps into me, or softly elbows me...lots of little things that i am totally confused by. hes told me numerous times before how shy he is with women etc. so i'm confused what this all means if hes so shy with women...why would he be acting this way with me?

i did like him a few months back, haven't for a while...since hes been doing this, i'm not sure what i should do...

  • Do i scare men away?

So basically i'm a complete no-nothing when it comes to the opposite sex...i'm also very analytical.

i have two questions...1) does a women with a loud personality scare men away? I love chatting to the guys at work...joking, mucking around and i really enjoy myself. Generally I'm quite insecure, but i'm happy with myself...the insecureness comes from me being worried how i look to guys (i don't think i'm ugly but i don't think i'm one of those pretty girls either) because i know to them looks means alot. but outside of work they act completely different

My second question...a guy at work I thought i got along with really well, all of a sudden stopped talking to me, i can't figure it out. we'd joke around all the time, we were always laughing at each others jokes and then he just stopped tlaking to me and when i ask him questions he snaps at me. i don't think i've done anything to offend him. i've asked him what the issue is if there is one and he says theres no problem...
